Legolas's pov

Orcs? No! This soon? Quickly, I draw an arrow and knock it on my bowstring. I look in the direction Glynn is looking at. I can see distant figures and the sound of metal clinking is now audible.

"Can you tell how many?" I ask Glynn. She squints.

"Not yet." She states. I frown.

"Lets hope it is not too many for us to handle." I respond. She sends me a slight smile.

"I doubt it." She remarks. I try to smile back.

"I hope you are right." I say. We stand there, side by side, our eyes darting constantly to learn and prepare. Then I see a small cluster of orcs start to move closer. I lean against the tree.

"Should we shoot?" I whisper. Glynn turns around and looks at the orcs.

"Yes." She orders. I spin around and raise my bow and shoot down an Orc in a split second. I draw another arrow and shoot another. And another. They all fall down, screeching in pain. I hear the sound of others falling and look over to see four other orcs fall to the ground, Glynn's arrows protruding out of their necks. We both slink behind the tree trunk again, looking anxiously at each other to plan the next move. She looks at me.

"Keep shooting until they come too close. Then we go with our blades." She says. But before I can even nod, she turns back around and starts shooting, rapid fire. Sighing, I spin around and start shooting as well. By this point, most of the orcs are visible, showing me that there are roughly fifty to seventy five of them. A lot for just two elves. I keep shooting and the amount of orcs goes down, but more keep streaming towards our tree. A few make it through our line of arrows and get really close to us. I draw some throwing knives and quickly whip them into the orcs' throats. Blood sprays onto the trees and some of it sprays on me, but I draw more arrows and keep shooting. Most of the Orcs that have fallen are Glynn's and I notice she is running short on arrows. I grab some of mine and hand them to her. She looks over at me with a grateful glance, but then she looks at my quiver.

"Legolas, I can't take these. You hardly have any left yourself." She exclaims. I shake my head and put them in her hand.

"Take them, Glynn. Don't worry about me, worry about yourself." I tell her, clasping her hand around them. I turn and shoot my last few arrows. Glynn shoots her last few. She turns to me and smiles slightly as she unsheathes her sword.

"Lets do this!" She hollers as she runs out from the cover of the tree, into the swarm of orcs. I unsheathe my own twin blades and rush after her. The few orcs that are left look at us in surprise. I watch Glynn hack down an Orc, and then she swings around to kill another. One of the orcs runs at me, and I jam my blade in it's gut before it can arc his blade down on me. It squeals and falls. I swing a blow at another Orc and it's head falls to the ground with a soft thud, followed by the body.

"Legolas!" A familiar voice calls from behind me. I turn and see Thallan and some other guard members. I nod at them and they shoot some of the orcs. Only two remain at the top of the hill, the leader and another. Glynn is fighting the leader and I see her slice it down, but then I also notice the last Orc raise its bow and aim it at Glynn.

"No!!!" I shriek and I sprint over and push Glynnii down. I watch as the arrow penetrates my chest and then darkness.
