CHAPTER 34
HAM AND CHEESE, OR TURKEY CLUB?
~~~~~~~~~~
The police arrived faster than Crystal thought they would. Ambulances were parked in front of the club, and Crystal watched from the passenger seat of Stiles' jeep as Scott spoke to a paralysed Danny who was being wheeled out on a gurney by an EMT.
Why had Jackson gone after Danny? After all, they are best friends and she thought that if Jackson was to go after anyone, it would probably be her, Stiles or Scott.
Crystal found herself voicing her thoughts. "Why do you think Jackson would go after Danny? I mean, they're best friends."
Stiles, who was playing with Crystal's hand and twirling the ring on her index finger that her dad had gotten her for christmas three years ago, sighed. "That's the question, isn't it?"
She sighed too, nodding her head. "I just don't get it."
Scott walked back over to the jeep, opening the passenger door and frowning at Crystal.
Crystal just stared at him, "what?"
Scott looked around awkwardly, flitting his eyes towards Stiles then back to her. "Can you sit in the back?"
Crystal's jaw dropped open, and she found herself glancing between Scott and Stiles. "What? I'm not sitting in the back with Jackson."
Stiles furrowed his eyebrows and looked at the back seat, seeing Jackson laying unconscious with Crystal's jacket draped over his... manhood.
"Oh yeah, I forgot he was here. Scott you'll need to sit in the back." Stiles said casually. Crystal smirked.
Scott looked offended. "I'm always shotgun."
"It's not that when Allison is in your car and I have to sit in the back--"
"Guys! Okay, I'll sit in the back." Crystal said, ending the two best friend's quarrel.
Stiles shook his head. "You're not sitting in their with Jackson, especially if he's naked."
"Oh, grow up." She muttered, climbing in to the back gracefully. Well, if you count somehow hitting your butt off of the steering wheel and almost kicking Scott in the face as being 'graceful', then she pretty much hit the nail in the head. She sat down, lifting Jackson's head and placing it in her lap since there was no room. Stiles just looked in the rearview mirror in annoyance and turned to Scott, who was now happily sitting in the passenger seat with a smug smile on his face. Crystal had to refrain from punching him in the back of the head.
"I couldn't get anything out of Danny." Scott brought up, his time turning more serious.
"Okay, can we just get the hell out of here before one of my dads deputies sees me?" Stiles said frantically before going to reverse out of the parking lot.
Suddenly, none other than the Sheriff himself pulled up right in front of Stiles' jeep.
"Oh my god, oh my god, could this get any worse?" Stiles exclaimed. Just then, Jackson groaned and lifted his head off of Crystal's lap slightly.
