Hoisting myself from my bed, I slowly stumble towards the door.

As pressure is put on my feet, pricks of pain shoots up my legs. "You can do this" I grumble to myself as I grip the lock to my door.

Pulling it back with a muffled cry, the door opens, revealing an empty hallway. Pressed on the wall, I slowly move down the hall, teeth pressed onto my lip.

Each step felt like a dragon was breathing all of it's eternal flame at my feet. Looking down, my eyes slowly close, pulling me away from the hot breath that fanned my feet and into a cool release.

"What is this place?" I whisper, my small hand clutching Grandpa's worn hand tightly.

"Somewhere I haven't been in years Azara" he say vaguely, leaving me irritated.

"Why couldn't Azula and Zuzu come?" I pout, missing the constant company of my cousins.

He chuckles, stopping our walking through a rocky landscape covered in vines. "Azara, this place is very sacred, as well as a large secret. Now, can you promise me not to tell your cousins?" he questions, kneeling down to my height.

"Fine" I huffed, crossing my arms.

"Come, let us go meet my friends. They have been waiting to meet you" Grandpa smiles, standing back up. A sudden nervousness went over me. Grandpa had only been back for a few months since Father died. Since then, he'd been distant and sad, but now he was smiling.

Suddenly, a banging ran through the air; drums.

The sound flew through the hair, shaking my bones. "Iroh" a man with a painted face says solemnly "It is good to see you again."

"Chief" Grandpa says respectively, bowing "I have come to show my granddaughter the true way to firebend."

Eyes snapping open, I realize I'm still on the wall, feet throbbing.

"I can do this" I whisper repetitively, pushing myself off from the wall. Wincing, I take step by step, moving onward.

Pushing myself up the stairs, the sunlight shines brightly, the air warm.

"Azara! Are you alright?" Grandpa yelps, worry written on his face as he approaches me.

"Where is everyone?" I question, ignoring his own worries. The deck was empty, no one was in sight.

"There was news of the Avatar on Kyoshi Island, where we are now" Grandpa sighs, looking off the bow of the ship, where land sits.

"I'm going" I say, going to move forward, but Grandpa's hand on my shoulder stops me. "I know you feel obligated to protect Zuko, but you must let him grow."

"You know what he'll do without someone to control him" I say harshly, pulling away from Grandpa with a frown.

Stopping, I turn my head to the side, so he can hear me "I'm okay."

Once the conversation has ended, I walk down the ramp, my still wrapped feet making contact with the ground. I had forgotten my shoes in my room.

Shaking my head, I trudge on, my vision blurring on and again.

Rubbing my hands together, smoke slowly lifts from the friction, leaving my hands warm. Pressing my palms on my face, it draws some of the heat from my feet to my face.

"Finally!" a hear a familiar voice scream out angrily.

My walking ceases, body burning up. The heat swirls in my body, the flames ripping me apart.

Gasping, I slowly fall to the ground, eyes locking shut.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a long flight of stairs, Grandpa and I stand on a thin bridge.
The drumming was distant, leaving just Grandpa and I. "Here Azara" Grandpa smiles, holding out a small flame to me. Taking it in my hand, I smile. The flame growing slowly, growing with my smile.
"Now, these friends may seem scary and first, but they have hearts of gold."
Nodding, I stand straight, the flame burning in my hand.
A large roar goes through the air, sending my flame to fade away.
Lip puckered out, a whimper almost coming out of my lips. "It's alright Azara" Grandpa whispers, hoisting me into his arms.
Clutching onto his neck, a sequel escapes my lips as two large dragons escape the two holes in the hills.
Once realizing they weren't going to kill us, my eyes opened in awe. "I thought all the dragons were dead" I whisper as they fly around us.
Grandpa merely watches the dragons. Suddenly, the dragons stop, stopping on either side of us.
"What are they doing?" I whisper, looking at the red and blue dragon.  "They're looking within you" Grandpa whispers.
~~~~~~~
"Katara! Why would you bring the Princess of the Fire Nation on Appa!?" A voice snarls.

"She was passed out! Do you see her feet!? They're infected!" A girl snaps back.

"Wh-What?" I whisper, eyes slowly opening.
