"We all are monsters, trying to find the best place in the world, where we can scare in peace and cry when vulnerable. We all are beasts, looking for a home."

It felt like something inside of me finally just snapped, like there was nothing tying me back from anything anymore. I haven't slept in a few days, I've been cooped up in my room hiding from the world and my family.

Both of them.

It's quite nice to just be in your head for a few days, no stresses, just peace and quiet. Well if you were a normal person.

Instead, my thoughts have been haunting me and that's the reason I wasn't sleeping, not because I went on a teenage drinking binge or anything.

I lie on my bed while feeling my heart race faster, thumping against my chest hard. My mind was racing and I was beginning to fear something bad might happen.

Every time I closed my eyes I would see fire and hear this god awful screeching, like someone was burning alive.

It taunted me when I closed my eyes and I feared it was something that possibly already happened or was about to. Believe me when I say I'm not psychic, but I do have a gut feeling about this dream.

I roll over onto my side and stare at the wall, watching as it moulded. Maybe I've gone bonkers. I've completely lost my mind.

Mom and Dad were away on another trip and I'm sure Silas and Asher are doing something. Groaning I flip back around and look at the alarm clock that now read quarter after midnight.

Grumbling under my breath I lie flat on my back and close my eyes, focusing on the sound of my breathing and heart beat.

The noise got louder in my head and I squeezed my eyes tighter, trying to block it all out when suddenly everything became quiet around me.

"Iliana wake up!"

I grumble and roll over, burying my face deeper into my pillow. Asher must have turned up the heat because the house felt like I was near the sun.

"Iliana you have to wake up!"

That same deep voice returned and this time I peaked open an eye, only to see smoke filling up in my room.

Sitting up straight in bed I gaze around my bedroom, feeling the panic boil up when I realized the house was on fire.

"Iliana!"

I numbly slide off my bed and walk towards my bedroom window, sticking my head out I look down to see a few people standing there.

My eyes roam the front lawn and land on Asher and Silas who stood next to my dad and actual siblings. Isaiah was screaming at the top of his lungs while Ilias was holding Idalia.

"Hey I'm not dead yet!" I shouted down at them, causing them all to look up at me.

"You crazy bitch! Get out of there!" Isaiah shouted, causing a small grin to take over my lips.
