I'm not trying to make her jealous. That's just stupid and it never works. I honestly think I will need someone other than Maven and Mare to talk to this weekend. Any moment with Mare will be heartbreaking. Any moment with Maven will be aggravating. I don't think Girl from the Bar will ever be anything more than a friend or escape for me. And I won't hesitate to tell Mare that. I'll always be waiting for her to come back. But right now, I need Girl from the Bar. She's flirty, fun, and will make this trip potentially manageable. And being at the palace even for a short period of time will be hell for me. It's just a reminder of the life I lost because I wasn't strong enough to take it back from Maven. I'll always love Mare, but I think at some point, seeing her is gonna be too hard for me to deal with.
