Lisbeth stood staring at herself in the full-length mirror in her room. She felt her gaze drift over to the clock-1:00. In two hours Dig would be at the club facing a girl he thought was her.
Her heart felt like it was going to burst out of her chest; but she couldn't lose it, well at least she couldn't look like she was losing it.
She took a deep breath and looked in the mirror again. J had picked out what he wanted her to wear. It was a beautiful outfit and she spent hours arranging her hair to cover the bald spots and finding the right makeup to try to conceal her bruises and cuts.
Of course you could still see them but it was a vast improvement. She almost looked normal.

She took a deep breath as she heard her door open. She turned around, expecting to see Hatter there. She smiled though when she realized it was J. He looked wonderful. The sight of him still took her breath away.

He smiled at her, walking over. "You look beautiful, princess." He said, putting his arms around her waist.
"Thanks daddy." She replied moving herself closer to him, burying herself in his chest.
