Sonnet #6

Cry me a river of pain to console

The lurking ache that has consumed my soul

A penny for my thoughts gets you insane

Are you sure time will remember my name?

A ghost lingers between my private thoughts

A paper and a pen is all it costs

They fight each other to win the same game

Are you sure time will remember my name?

I look down at those who follow my path

An imitation, you should do the math

They come not for verse, but glory and fame

Are you sure time will remember my name?

But I do not write for books of history

I write because it's a passion in me!
