One day I wish that I could reach the stars

But I have to grow roots before branches

I flew too high, missed the mark and went far

I took the easy road and missed chances

I need to learn who I am before I

Begin to fathom who I want to be

I need to forgive the past, say goodbye

Even though it makes me weak at the knee

We all walk a lonely world, I see now

The truths in our heads and what's real are not

The same but that does not mean we'll allow

The butterflies to untangle their knots

So I have to grow roots before branches

I'll start to walk then start taking chances
