Sonnet #70

My fingers tingle, my tears run my face

I'm tired, hungry, and lost sense of grace

My sleep is sleepless, filled with rants and fears

But I'm to keep a brave face and say cheers

My world is adjacent to theirs you see

So they can't understand that side of me

I function in a way that makes no sense

And yet somehow I do it all, and hence

I have no safety net, it's a free fall

Between the kicks and blows I do it all

But I won't let the scars and bruises show

I simply nod my head and take a bow

No matter what they throw my way , I stand

I won't falter, nor need a helping hand
