Mahdia felt her heart in her mouth, Ahyan seemed to not understand her as he looked confused. She on the other hand felt nervous to say the words directly. Somewhere Ahyan knew this was coming. Strangely he felt good and bad for feeling good. He straightened up pretending he didn't hear her.

'I have to go.' He said, as he turned around Mahdia held his hand and he froze.

'I like you, Ahyan. I like you very much.' She confessed. Ahyan turned around. Slowly, he moved his hand.

'You are a very nice girl, Mahdia.'

'But do you like me?' she asked looking at him with hopeful eyes. Ahyan didn't like the look, he felt guiltier.

'I have a plane to catch. I must go.' He said and turned around. Before Mahdia could stop him, he walked away. Mahdia stood in the rain watching him go, a sinking feeling in her chest.

Mrs. Siddiqui is confused as she saw her drench and probably crying. She asked her but Mahdia assured everything is fine and she is just emotional because Ahyan is leaving. Mrs. Siddiqui found something was amiss because Mahdia's lips said something and her eyes said something else.

Mariam looked away from the window and then at her Aunt.

'What were you talking to Ahyan?' Mariam asked. Mahdia forced a smile.

'Nothing!' She said. Mariam watched her surprised as Mahdia silently took out a Hello Kitty PJ.

Mahdia locked herself in the bathroom, she leaned against the door and closed her eyes, tears fell from her eyes.

Her bubble had just busted. Forget loving, Ahyan doesn't even like her. He didn't reply for her question instead walked away without a backward glance. What should she make of this?

She slapped her forehead, how silly of her? she fell in love with him and happily assumed he feels the same way for her but unfortunately, he doesn't and tomorrow he will be flying back to India. Now, what after this? Mahdia felt lost and very upset.

Ahyan couldn't sleep. He kept pacing in the room, at times smoking. He kept looking at the red umbrella and felt bad. Her brown eyes haunting him. How innocently she had confessed she liked him. He knew very well what the like you meant but he pretended and still is pretending, that he didn't get it.

Ahyan sighed and took another puff of smoke, he stared out from the window.

Tomorrow he will be going things will eventually go to normal. Even Mahdia will move on, but he, will he move on?

Around 3 am he decided to get some sleep, he has a plane to catch tomorrow afternoon. As lay on the bed out of habit he checked his phone and then he recollected with a heavy heart that she won't be calling him like every night this week.

Ahyan thought it was strange how in just one week he felt so connected with Mahdia, and that little girl Mariam. She reminded him strongly of himself as a kid and her face, those dark eyes it reminded him so much of his sister, Sadaf. As a child, Sadaf looked very similar to Mariam. Ahyan found this very disturbing. He had never seen an image of his sister in any girl let alone a little girl. Ahyan turned to his left, he came face to face with Kumar and he quickly turned to the other side. He stared at the hotel room door before sleep engulfed him.

Lydia kept glancing at Mahdia who was busy with her cake mold. Finally, she turned towards Mahdia and watched her with her head tilted little to the side, her lips pressed tightly together. Mahdia accidentally spilled some of the batter, 'Will you please stop staring?' Mahdia said annoyed. Lydia didn't look away she simply placed her hand on her hip and leaned against the table. Mahdia glared at her, 'What?'
