Boggart Bonding

Chapter 56:
-Bex p.o.v.-

The next morning all anyone talked about was the fact that Bex Dumbledore, the girl who made it obvious of her hate for him, went on a date with Sirius Black. They whispered as I walked past, and everything went silent when Sirius and I were in the same room. They watched with such interest and blatantly eavesdropped as Sirius walked over to my side.

He slid into the seat next to me, "Morning Gorgeous, how was your sleep?" He grinned at me, "thought about my offer?"

I rolled my eyes playfully, "why yes, I have. I've decided that I will not be going on a second date with you."

"What?" He questioned, grinning, "I shared ice cream with you. And when you dropped your spoon I shared my spoon with you."

I laughed, "alright, fine. You can have another date."

"Can't wait." He winked, turning to James who had been trying to get his attention.

"Come on, we have class." Lily urged me, pulling me from the great hall and down the corridors.

"Today's lesson," the professor started, "is the boggart." There was a pause of silence as the new professor looked around the room. "Now does anyone know what a boggart is?"

Lily raised her hand immediately. Looking around the room, it seemed no one else knew the answer. She was the only one with her hand up.

"Ms. Evans?"

"A boggart is a shape shifter," Lily answered softly, looking at the teacher in slight apprehension.

"Yes, and what does a boggart shift into?" He looked around, calling on Lily once more.

"They shift into whatever the person fears most," she spoke. "Professor, are we going to have to face one today?"

"That is right, Ms. Evans. If you'll all follow me, it seems that Mr. Filch found one in a cabinet of an abandoned class room."

We stood and followed the teacher down the endless corridors. Students were whispering to each other, wondering what they feared most.

Sirius threw an arm over my shoulder, "hey, Gorgeous, if you get too scared, I'll protect you."

I rolled my eyes, "oh how sweet of you, my own knight in shining armor."

He chuckled, "only for you."

"Gather around, gather around." The professor ushered us in and around a filing cabinet that was placed in the center of the room. "Now, let's go over the incantation. Everyone repeat after me, Riddikulus."

Everyone mimicked his words, speaking the incantation. When he was satisfied, he ordered everyone to form a line. I ended up somewhere near the front of the line, not too far up though. Sirius was in front of me, behind James and Remus.

A Ravenclaw went first, the boggart was released and formed a clown. Shakily, the Ravenclaw girl spoke the spell and it shifted into rag doll.

Lily went up and it was her sister. Petunia spoke nasty words to her, Lily frowned, looking like she was about to cry. She said the incantation and Petunia became a flower pot filled with the very flower she was named after. She walked to the back of the line, a little shaky.

More people went before I was only a few people away from going.

Remus stepped up, the boggart cracked, shifting into three people. The Boggart James glared at Remus, "you're a monster."

"Go away, you freak, no one wants you here." Boggart Sirius sneered at Remus.

Remus reached out to them, "don't touch me, you filthy piece of nothing." Boggart Peter snapped.
