Older Brothers

Chapter Twelve - the next morning

I woke up to the sound of shuffling and Slowly I opened my eyes.

"She does look kind of cute." I heard one of them say - pretty sure it was Jake

"No she's gross." Said Tommy.

"Too bad you look like her then." Chase laughed.

"Shut up! So do you!" He snapped "she's waking up."

I opened my eyes to see three of my brothers stood around me, looking down at me. I'd never hated them so much because I know this was mostly their fault. Especially Jake it was his idea.

"Did you have a good sleep?" Jake asked smirking. I kicked his leg so hard he almost fell over. He glared at me. Ha! I smiled to myself.

"You cold?" asked Tommy, smirking. As he leaned down in an attempt to patronise me, but his hand brushed my arm and he turned to the other two.

"She's freezing." He said, I could tell he was worried, but they weren't.

"Well of course I would be! You left me up here all night." I snapped.

"Well do you want to come inside?" Jake asked surprisingly.

"If it isn't obvious enough yes!"

"But Dad doesn't have to know about this, right?" Chase asked. They protect themselves first.

I thought for a moment. It will only get warmer?

"No." I said stubbornly. "I'm telling him."

"Well you're not coming in then." Jake told me.

"Fine, guess I'll just have to wait for Dad to come home and find out what you've done." I said.

"Dad doesn't come home for months." Tommy said.

"Then he can find a frozen statue of his daughter and you have to explain that to him." i replied.

"Snitch." Said Jake. I stuck my tongue out at him.

"We can't keep her up here any longer - she's too cold." Tommy said turning to them and chase rolled his eyes.

"You're right, she needs to eat something too. Khloe we're going to let you down-" Chase started, but was interrupted by Jake.

"No we're not! Not until she says she's not going to snitch!" He argued. Typical. They're always looking out for themselves. But chase was more of a rational thinker compared to Jake. He thought things through.

"No Jacob. She's been up here long enough. We have to let her down." Chase said surprisingly. Jake wasn't very rational and Chase was.

This conversation went on so long that I found myself tired again. I leaned on Tommy who just watched them argue. I closed my eyes and started day dreaming until I felt myself being picked up. I opened my eyes to see Chase carrying me, of course he won. You couldn't beat him. I've learned that the hard way.

When we got inside the house I got brought through to the living room. He put me down on the couch in front of the tv and left me with Charlie and Tommy.

"She's been asleep for that long?" Charlie asked, did he know?

I was so tired I wanted to shut my eyes again. "Kinda..." Tommy said.

The door opened and Dean came in. He looked really tired.

"Hey." Charlie said . Dean grunted and came and sat down beside me. His arm touched mine and he moved away.

"Khlo, why you so cold?" He asked me. I looked to Tommy and he glared at me telling me not to say anything, but why should I do that for him?

"Tommy , Jake and chase locked me In the tree house over night and only just let me out." I said.

"they did what?!" He shouted glaring at Tommy. Tommy gave him a a sheepish look. "When I saw you last night I didn't think you'd do that!"  Dean said, taking a step towards Tommy and he cowered in his older brothers presence.

"You're such a dick Tommy!" Charlie growled, shoving him hard.  Tommy reluctantly let it go as he was now faced with two of our brothers.

"You know that things not safe?" Dean continued, you could see he was getting madder by the second. He kept clenching his fists and I sort of wanted him to punch him..... what? They locked me in a tree house!

Tommy looked confused and so was I. I guess neither of us knew that.

"Here you go Khlo." Jake said with a fake smile entering the living room. He was trying to make it up to me. He had a cup of coffee in his hands and he came and sat the other side of me, handing the mug to me. "To warm you up." He said, putting one arm around me, giving me his body warmth. I glared at him.

"You wouldn't be needing to do that if you didn't lock her in the tree house! You idiot! I thought you were all more responsible than that?!" Dean shouted.

Chase rolled his eyes as he came.

"It's not that bad, she'll be fine." He reassured, also sitting down beside me. I was now trapped between the twins.

"Wait til Dad gets back!" Charlie growled.

"And you going to tell him? Then he'll ask why didn't you stop us? You are the older and more responsible one!" Jake shouted.

"Stop it!" Charlie snapped. In that moment I sneezed and then grounded because I knew I had now got a cold. Great.

Charlie noticed and turned back to me. "You're not getting sick are you?" I just looked at him. He sighed.

I sighed and stood up. Moving away from the twins. They looked at me like they had been rejected. I went and sat on another sofa.

"Honestly Khlo, are you okay? What they did was wrong." Dean said to me. He has always surprised me. He makes himself out to everyone he's this guy who doesn't care about anything or anyone but underneath he does care, he may try to tease me but he never goes too far.. not really. Not like what my other brothers have just done.

We got up and walked to the door, "Dean I'm  fine, I just think it was a cold night last night." I said trying to blame the weather. And walked to the kitchen where Elliott was.

He had made lunch. So
It was lunch and they shouted for everyone and We came and sat round the kitchen table and Jake sat opposite me, but I didn't acknowledge him and Charlie sat next to him and Chase and Dean came and sat besides me.

It was amusing to see them walking on egg shells. Chase, Jake and Tommy were scared the rest of my brothers would tell Elliott. But they were also scared what Dean was gonna do because he was mad at them. They were also extra nice to me - letting me pick a tv programme, bringing me drinks and everything.

Everyone knew something was up. The question was if the truth of what happened last night was gonna come out.
