In the end I ended up trying out. Alex decided not to do it, but said she'd watch for moral support or something, so then it was just me,
Alone on the field with my brothers.

Who'd of thought? The mean girl trying out for football?

"Well hello there, Miss Khloe Lakewood." A voice that I recognised instantly said from behind me once I had entered the field.

"Elliott? What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I'm the coach." He told me, which was exactly what
I wanted to hear. He could handle chase. Chase didn't listen to anyone, but his say can outweigh chase's, even in this situation. I was actually getting a chance.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked.

"Because I wanted you to try out because you wanted to. Even if it was against a load of boys. I just didn't want you to be put off with me being there." He explained.

"All you've done is add to the number of brothers that are try out or already on the team." I replied.

"Maybe. Now go out there and show them what you're made of." He told me.

"You're cheesy." I replied.

"But effective." He said as I jogged away and headed to where everyone was warming up.

This is when I got scared.

Dean was stood with a guy called Ace. Charlie and another two boys they were friends with; Oliver and Rick were stood in a group warming up and talking. Chase and Jake  were together with some guy called Blake who I had unfortunately met too many times and another named Austin who I had also met before.  Tommy was with some other guys and then there was just me, alone.

I decided to not go to one of my brothers and join them because it would seem like I was dependent on them, which I'm not. I don't need anyone, never have.

"Right, one lap round the field." Elliott shouted, which made me want to huff instead, but there was no time for that. Instead, I found myself running. I was third to last, but being with in a group of boys that was good. Of course I bet some other girls could out run plenty of boys, but I'm not a runner and I am not amazing at everything.

"Good, now I want two captains. Chase being one of them and any volunteers for the other?" Elliott said, looking at all of us and especially me, but there was no way I would be captain, but I knew if no one volunteered he would pick me.

"I'll do it." Blake said, firmly. He was the time of person who knew exactly what he wanted and how to get it. Then he would do anything to get it.

"Good, now chase, you get first pick." Elliott said.

"Jake." He told us and Jake went and joined him.

"Dean." Blake said and here goes the battle of grabbing the lakewoods.

"Tommy."

"Charlie." Blake said, snatching our other brother away from chase.

Then it got to chase and I was the last Lakewood. All my brothers looked towards chase. Blake's team expected them to pick me, for my big brothers to look out for their poor little sister. But that's not what happened. And of course it wasn't.

It became personal. Chase knew I was a good player, he'd seen me play since I was little, I had even learned a few things from him,  but he didn't want me. So that's why he pick "Austin." And shocked everyone, including me.

Blake looked unsure. He looked at me as though he was examining me. I'm pretty sure he's been round one time when me and Charlie were playing. So he probably knows I've got potential, but then chase didn't want me so it wouldn't be tactical to pick me, so he didn't.
