The Return - Derek

It's been almost two years since you last saw Derek. He left Beacon Hills after fully evolving, and fighting Kate and her berserkers in the old church in Mexico. It seems like so long ago, it feels like it's been an eternity.

It was hard for everyone to watch him leave, but it was even harder for you. You've had a huge crush on Derek ever since you first met him. Everyone was skeptical about him, but you never were. You knew underneath his hard exterior there was a loving man, afraid to get close and be hurt again.

You were laying in bed, and thinking all of this caused tears to fall from your eyes. You couldn't help it, Derek was more than just a crush. You loved him.

You wiped your tears and looked at the time on your phone: 10:35 PM. You sighed, turned off your lamp and tried to fall sleep to escape these thoughts which tormented you.

You were dozing off and all of sudden you felt someone, or something, jump on you. Your family was out of town, so you knew it wasn't your sibling or anyone else, it was an intruder. This woke you up immediately and you flung them to floor. You jolted up and jumped on them growling, your claws were out and you were ready to fight. You looked down at them and saw it was just Malia.

"Geez I guess I shouldn't do that anymore."

You stood up and helped her up, "Not when I'm sleeping. If I'm awake, go for it."

She laughed, "Yeah it's probably best that way."

"So why'd you break in my house at 11:57 at night?"

"Hey I didn't break in, your bedroom window was open." You both laughed and she continued, "Anyway, we need to go help Scott. Since everyone's been hunting the supernatural Scott can't do anything without being targeted. They want the true alpha."

"Oh ok, where is he? Is he ok?"

"Yeah he's fine, he's at home and everyone's going to meet him there first. I decided to come get you because you weren't answering your phone."

"Yeah ok, let me change out of my pajamas quick and then we can go."

You quickly got changed into your go-to outfit when you knew there could be a fight. After you were done, you grabbed your phone and you left with Malia. You drove to Scott's house and met up with everyone, except Stiles, he was away at college. Scott told everyone the plan, which was taking place at the high school. Once everyone understood what was going to happen, everyone squeezed into your car. With Stiles gone, you were the designated driver.

After the short drive, you arrived at the high school. Everyone got out and Scott started discussing a small change of plans.

"Liam I want you to come with me instead, (y/n) stay with Lydia and watch her back. Malia you—"

Scott was cut off by a familiar voice, "Hey!"

Everyone turned around and saw Stiles' familiar powder blue Jeep. He smiled, "You didn't think you were doing this without me!"

Scott was about to answer him happily, but then another familiar face walked up and cut him off again, "And me."

Your jaw dropped when you saw it was none other than Derek. The whole pack ran over to the two of them. Everyone was hugging Stiles and Derek too, you knew he had that soft spot for the pack. You hugged Stiles first.

"I missed you Stiles!"

"I missed you too (y/n)!", he began to whisper, "You have some business to take care of with Derek."

You blushed, "You never forgot huh?"

"Of course not! It's pretty obvious, I don't know how he hasn't realized. And how could I forget when you told me something like that! You're one of my best friends!"

"Thanks Stiles! I'm going for it!"

"Good luck!"

You walked over to Derek, "Hi Derek!"

He smiled immediately and pulled you into a huge bear hug, which you returned, "I missed you (y/n)! I missed you so much!"

Tears began to form in your eyes, "I missed you too Derek. I missed you too!"

You both pulled away from the hug and looked at each other. You didn't know what to say, it's been so long and you didn't know how he was going to react to you telling him your feelings.

"Derek, I...um..."

"I know what you're trying to say."

"Y-you do?"

"Yeah.", he smiled and kissed you. You immediately kissed him back. The kiss sent sparks through both of your bodies, little did you know that he had been waiting for this moment forever too.

You pulled away and you both had smiles on your face. Derek spoke, "So..."

"If your going to ask me to be your girlfriend, the answer is obviously yes!"

He kissed you again and you were both extremely happy. The whole pack was watching and were happy for the both of you.

Stiles spoke up, "So, turns out sourwolf isn't so sour anymore."

Derek rolled his eyes, "Shut up Stilinski."

It never felt better to have this dynamic duo back.
