"Okay sweetheart, I think that just about does it. I'll come in to check on you every once in awhile, but if you need anything while I'm not here, just hit that button and I'll come in right away, okay?"

You nodded, "Thank you, Nurse McCall."

She smiled, "You can call me Melissa."

You smiled a little, "Thank you, Melissa."

She brushed some hair out of your face, "Of course."

She turned on the lamp beside the bed and went to walk out, but you stopped her before she did, "Wait, Melissa?"

"Yeah?"

"Um, do you think, well," you paused, "you don't think they'll come after me here, right?"

Melissa looked at you sympathetically, "There's going to be a deputy outside your door at all times, and we have hospital security on high alert, you'll be safe here."

You nodded, "Okay, thank you."

She smiled a little, "It's no problem."

With that, she turned off the lights, leaving just the lamp on, and walked out of the room.

You sighed heavily as a few tears escaped from your eyes. Being attacked by hunters, heavily poisoned with wolfsbane, and left for dead in a river in the preserve wasn't exactly your idea of a fun weekend.

You also couldn't help but think about how the hospital staff would react to you being completely healed in about a day. The whole town seemed to be terrified of the supernatural, so would you just make it worse by healing a lot quicker than a human would?

You tried to calm yourself down so you could get some sleep, but you were still so scared and upset that your mind would not let you rest.

You were tempted to hit the button that would call Melissa in, but what good would that do? She couldn't sit in the room with you like a mom does with their child after they have a nightmare.

All of a sudden, there was a knock on the door, which tore you from your thoughts.

The person who knocked spoke from the other side, "(Y/n)? It's Deputy Parrish, with the Beacon County Sheriff's Department."

"You can come in."

He pushed the door open and walked into the room.

You sat up slowly, but you still winced in pain from the healing gash in your stomach.

"Hey hey, you're going to hurt yourself even more, lay back down."

You waved him away, "I'm okay, I'm okay."

"No, you're not, lay back down."

The pain got worse the more you sat up, so you took his advice, laid back on the bed, and sighed heavily.

"I know you're probably scared and anxious to leave, but you need to stay here and heal."

You looked at him confused from his choice of words, but once you did, it hit you, "Wait, you're the one that rescued me, you're the hellhound."

He smiled a little, "Yeah, that would be me."

"Oh my gosh," you paused, "thank you, thank you so much."

"Don't thank me, it's what I do. I'm just glad you're okay."

"I'm going to thank you again anyways."

He smiled, "Well you're welcome then."

You smiled back at him, and he then went to leave, but you stopped him, "Are you going to stay here?"

"Yeah, I'll be standing right outside the door."

"Well, do you think you could stay in the room with me instead? I don't really care for being alone, especially after tonight."

He smiled again, "If that's what you want."

He sat down in the chair that was placed in the corner of the room, not too far from the bed.

You started making small talk with him, but it quickly turned into full on conversations. You talked for almost two hours straight, learning a lot about each other. The conversation only ended because you eventually fell asleep.

When Parrish noticed you had fallen asleep, he looked at you and smiled. You weren't just someone he had saved, he could already feel a friendship forming between the two of you.

Hey guys! It's been a hot minute, and I'm not too happy with this one, but I'm just happy to finally write again. My writer's block has been ROUGH, so this was the best idea I had. I swear it sounded better in my head.

Anyways, I hope you guys liked it despite me thinking it's basically terrible.

Thanks for reading! <3
