Visits at Work - Parrish

Lately, Jordan has been extra busy at work because of the beast running around Beacon Hills. With calls coming in constantly, new accident reports being created and reviewed, and the whole town being on high alert, the Sheriff's Station needs all hands on deck.

So, Jordan had been swamped with overtime and working nights. You were lucky that you got to see each other a few times out of the week, and that was only because of his necessary time off required by law.

Barely seeing him was not making you happy, so you decided to go to the Sheriff's Station and surprise him. You also decided to bring him a coffee and sandwich from the local deli, figuring he had forgotten to eat almost all day due to how busy he was.

You walked into the station, went up to the front desk, and saw Deputy Clarke, one of your best friends from high school, "Hey Valerie!"

"Hi (y/n)! What are you doing here?"

"I wanted to surprise Jordan, since he's been working like crazy lately."

She pouted her bottom lip, "Aww how cute!"

You rolled your eyes playfully, "Yeah yeah."

She laughed a little, "Well he's at his desk, doing paperwork."

You smiled, "Well then I'm going to interrupt him."

"Have fun," she pointed at you and tried to keep a straight face, "but not too much fun."

"Oh my god," you started walking away, "goodbye Valerie."

She just laughed as you made your way over to Jordan's desk. He had two piles of accident reports on his desk, and he was completely engulfed in it. So much so that he didn't notice you standing right behind him. You leaned over and placed the cup of coffee right between his arms, which he had resting on the desk.

He immediately looked up to see you standing there with a smile on your face, he smiled back, "(Y/n)? You came to visit me?"

"Yeah, I can't let this place steal you from me all the time."

He grabbed your hand and pulled you onto his lap, "I'm so happy you're here, I hate not being able to see you."

"You and me both," you smiled wider and gave him a short but loving kiss.

"Well, we're together right now, that's what matters," he paused and jokingly added, "and you brought me coffee!"

You tried to keep a straight face and glare at him, but he had a huge grin on his face, making you laugh instead. You responded after you finished laughing, "Yup! I figured, after all these hours, you could use it."

He laughed a little, "You know me too well."

"I do, and because of that," you placed the sandwich on his desk, "I also figured you probably didn't eat today."

"You definitely know me too well."

You continued to talk about everything and anything for a good half hour, but unfortunately you couldn't distract him from work for the whole night.

You had moved to a chair right next to his shortly after you gave him his food, so now you were hugging his arm while you rested your head against his shoulder. You spoke sadly, "I guess I should let you get back to work."

He sighed, "Yeah, I think I took a longer break than I should've."

You let go of him and sat up, "Okay, I'll let you work. Will you be home later tonight?"

He smiled, "Yeah, I only have a few hours left."

You smiled back, "Then I will be counting them down."

"Me too."

You sat there quietly for a little bit, just savoring these last few moments you had together before you needed to let him get back to work. Of course you would see him later, but he had been working so much that the time you did have together just didn't seem like enough.

He broke the silence, "Well, thank you for visiting me, you should come by more often."

"I think I will."

"Good," he kissed you, "I need to work tomorrow, so will you stop by?"

You kissed him again, "Definitely."
