Chapter 3: Transferee

_____

I do not understand the mystery of grace - only that it meets us where we are but does not leave us where it found us.

- Anne Lamott
_____

It's Monday again.

Pero I need to.

From: Rhianne

See you later Trev. Have a good morning!

From: Kylie

Bangon na bruh. Naghihintay kame sa harap ng gate niyo.

From: Jay

Sorry for Kylie's text, she's just joking XD.

From: Greg

Bro! Jay will be there of course :D.

I replied on each and everyone's text and I must say, I smiled because of their concerns sa akin. After texting them, I went downstairs to the dining room, seeing breakfast already prepared by the maids.

"Sir Trevor, gusto mo ba ng kape o juice?" tanong niya sa akin with a smile.

"No, hindi na po. Water will do."

My smile faded in just seconds.

Napabuntong-hininga ako.

"It's fine, you don't need to ask."

"I'm just making sure. Pagbutihin mo iyan, para sa College mo hindi ka na mahirapan at ikaw na ang magmamana ng kumpanya natin. You know that you're my only son, Paul." he spoke with authority, not even taking a glance at me.

But instead of making another response, I continued eating, dahil ayoko pang mag-away kami muli at masasayang lang ang oras ko sa kanya dahil most of the time, siya naman ang nasusunod. After eating, I brushed my teeth, took a bath and finally wore my uniform to go to school.

My uniform was the usual polos for schools, paired with a dark green necktie, and the school's logo sewed on the left pocket of the uniform. For the bottoms, I had a long, grey pants, wearing black leather shoes.

Wearing my backpack, I was ready to go. I went out of my bedroom, to downstairs. Going to the main door, I was stopped by my Dad's authorative voice.

"Still not listening to me, Trevor?" he says.

I stopped myself from boiling my blood over him, reminding myself repeatedly that he is my father.

"And why should I? I have my own decisions, Dad.".

"You should take second thoughts. Stop befriending that girl."

Like what I did earlier, I never had a response and just continued what I was doing, and this time, I wanted to go to school.

Stopping my motor bike from the school's parking lot near the main entrance, I can already see Rhianne and Kylie waiting for me from the school's entrance.
