"Goodnight Skylar

"Goodnight Skylar." Tony said before switching off my light and shutting the door. The room was in total darkness, besides the lights coming from the city through my large window. I couldn't help but look around the room, finding human-like shapes in the darkness. I grabbed onto Mr. Bear and squeezed tight as my breath quickened.

"Jarvis? Can you scan the room for any other uh humans?" I asked in a shaky whisper, hoping he could hear me and I wouldn't have to talk louder.

"It's only you Miss. Would you like me to contact Tony? Your heart beat has arisen." Jarvis asked worriedly. I know he didn't have emotions, but I liked to think he did.

"N-No Jarvis that won't be n-necessary." I said, attempting a strong full voice but just ended up with a choppy whisper. I laid down, resting my head on the soft memory foam pillow. My foot had been hanging off the edge of the bed, but I quickly moved it up to my side, afraid of what could be under my bed. I am acting crazy. I wasn't a scared little five years old. I was Skylar Stark for god's sake. I couldn't help what came out of my mouth when I was afraid though.

"Jarvis? There's not anything under my bed is there?" I asked, sitting up right again. I moved my comforter around me, squishing myself in it like a messy burrito with Mr. Bear squished to my chest.

"No, Miss. Are you sure you wouldn't like me to alert Mr. Stark?" Jarvis asked once again. As much as I wanted Tony to tell me everything was okay, I knew I shouldn't. I'm sure Tony had more pressing matters to attend to than a whiny baby fourteen-year-old.

"P-Positive." I said with a fake smile as a small tear escaped my eye. I felt like the Orange-Haired-Man was going to jump out at me and stab me with more needles - something I didn't want.

I laid back down on my bed, trying to tell myself that it was just a lamp, it wasn't a face.

It's just a lamp, Skylar.

It's not a person; it's just a lamp.

Nothing to be scared of.

"Jarvis, are you positive no one's in here?" I asked, staying deadly still, not moving my eyes from the lamp. "C-Can you t-turn on the l-light?" I asked Jarvis through stutters.

"Miss, there is no sign of anybody in your room." Jarvis informed me for the third time as the lights turned on.

It was really just a lamp. I could have sworn . . .

"I am alerting Tony, Miss." Jarvis told me. "No! No, Jarvis don't!" I pleaded before my door opened.

"Sky? What's going on?" Tony asked, rubbing his eyes. He was wearing red pajamas. His unstyled hair made him look like he just woke up, which he probably just had. I immediately felt guilty for waking him up. "Why are you crying?"

"I told Jarvis not to call you." I said to him quickly as he came to sit next to me on my bed.

"Well I'm glad he did, you're crying. What's going on, Sky?" Tony asked with a frown, wiping a tear from my face. His eyes looked heartbroken, making me feel even more guilty.
