ELIZABETH'S  POV

Today I'm having lunch with Charles.
It's our parent's idea of us 'getting to know one another.'

I don't think we'll ever get along from the way things are at the moment.

Right now I'm in the mall with Mary telling her about my awful night.

All the while I kept blubbing, she was looking at the new shoe collection of Jimmy Cho.

"Wow, I can't believe you went through all this." She said trying to fit a shoe.

"Now tell me, is he hot?" She asked all of a sudden.
I've had many unexpected moments with Marry but boy, never had I expected her to ask me this.

"What? How could you even ask me such a thing?" I asked taking the shoe out of her hand and grabbing her attention.

"OK I was just joking, but seriously tell me." This time she gave me her puppy dog eyes.

I exhaled defeatedly then shook my head at her.
"OK fine, he has dark grey eyes and.." I was interrupted.

All of a sudden Charles was standing behind me, a smirk on his face.
I hadn't seen him coming, and nor had I expected him.

"Discussing me already?" He said, his smirk forming into a smile. "You can continue."

He placed his hand around my waist. I felt his grip tighten.

He looked me straight in the eye hypnosis me. He had that effect on me that made me forget what I wanted to say. He smirked at me victoriously.
I started to crumble as he held me in his arms.
"Yes actually, I was just telling her about what an ass you are," I said snapping out of my thoughts.

I slapped his hand away from my waist.

"Very funny, now don't forget lunch is at one. If you like, don't show up." He said rubbing his hand, I must have slapped him hard, my hands were still red.
He rolled his eyes at me and then turned to leave.

IF I would get a cent for every time he rolls his eyes I would be a millionaire.

"What are you doing here anyway?" I asked him.

"I guess you'll never know," he said turning around and then proceeding to walk.

"Wow, is he the one you were talking about?" Mary asked staring after him eyebrow raised.

"Unfortunately" I replied.

She stood still for a moment staring at him not saying a word.

"He is hot. If I were you I would just suck it up and get married." She said.

I can't believe her!

"Are you even listening to yourself, you are supposed to be my friend. You know what, don't even talk to me." I snapped.

"Relax Elle I was just kidding." She said letting out a laugh.

"You better be. Now you have to go and start getting ready" she paused. "Isn't he the coffee guy who gave you hell the other day?" she asked.

I nodded my head.

"OK, good luck. Trust me you going to need it." She said.

She placed the shoes back. She always does that, she tries on shoes but never buys them, it's very annoying, especially for the people who would want to buy those shoes.

"Bye, best of luck," I say to her kissing her on her cheek. "Don't wear grandma clothes," she whispered in my ear.

I got home and got dressed in the black lace dress I had just bought. That Mary had brought with my money. She always thought I had bad taste.

I was finally able to put my hair into perfect curls.

After a while, I heard the doorbell ring.

I walked to the door prepared for Charles's body-shaming comments.

To my surprise, it wasn't Charles but his driver who came to pick me up.

I took my purse along with a couple of things before going with him.
I asked the driver his name but instead, he ignored my question and turned the radio on to classic music.

It was more like a one-hour drive. I had nothing but candy crush on my phone to entertain me.

After we arrived the driver opened the door for me and then gestured a path for me to follow.

Maybe the driver didn't speak English.

I took in my surrounding as I breathed in the lavender scent.

The place looked like a garden. In front, there was the lone with a few tables spread around. In the centre, there were roses planted forming a pathway.

I walked along the path until it led me to a garden shed where Charles was already standing.

He smirked at me as I walked toward him.

I looked around to see a table for two centred in the middle with flower petals surrounding the table.

Without any warning, he pulled me into a hug taking me by surprise.

My body tensed not knowing how to react.

"I can't believe you dressed up for me," he whispered.

This arrogant jerk. Does everything have to be about him!

I punched him on his chest pushing him away.

I walked away from him at sat at the table ready to get this day over and done with.

Lunch with him was the worst.

He all of a sudden tensed his mood changing. I didn't do anything to him besides kicking him under the table and calling him a douchebag in front of the waiter.

He didn't even take a look at his food. I on the other hand' offered to eat his food. He just passed his plate to my side. He must have thought I was kidding at first, but when I started eating his after I had finished my plate of food he started staring at me. When I asked him why he was staring at me, he said I eat like a man. At which I made a joke and offered to buy him a salad since the roles had turned.

After lunch, it got quite interesting.

"We need to talk about this whole marriage issue." He said all of a sudden.

"No, I'm not going to talk about this with you right now." I picked up my bag ready to leave when I heard him say the most unexpected thing.
