Elizabeth's POV

"What did you just say?" I asked unsure whether I had heard correctly.

"I have a plan to get out of this arranged marriage." He repeated.

"OK, I'm listening," I said.

If you had a plan to get me out of this then he had my full attention.

"According to our parents, we can only have a divorce after we have a child together......" I immediately cut him off before he continued only further.

"You are not suggesting we have a child right." I looked at him with a confused expression.

"No, especially not with you."

"So what is your plan."

Just as he was about to talk my cell phone rang.

"Just give me a minute," I said to Charles as I answered the call.

"Hello, it's me, Erik, Mary is in the hospital. She was involved in a car accident."

"What, when did this happen," I shouted through the phone.

"This afternoon."

"OK, just text me the address to the hospital, I'm on my way." I quickly hung up the phone.

"Is everything OK," Charles asked.

"No my best friend was involved in a car accident and now I have to go and see her."

"OK, let's go." He said grabbing his car keys.

I followed him without hesitation. All I could think of right now was my best friend.

"Hey, it's going to be OK." He said giving me a warm hug. This was the first time he was being nice to me and it felt amazing.

Soon we arrived at the hospital. Erik was already outside waiting for me. When I saw him I immediately hugged him.

I wanted to cry.

"So how is she?" I asked him.

"She is in very bad condition right now. They don't know if she is going to make it."

Not long after that Mary's mother arrived. She was about to break down and it was not going to do her any good if I started crying.

I had to be strong for her and my best friend.

"We need to do operations on her right now, and it's going to cost a lot. So we need your permission and for you to pay up the amount before we can start with any operation." The doctor said

"What?" I shouted.

"Relax Elie he is just doing his job. So how much is it." Charles said patting my back.

"You should go to the receptionist to find out."

After that Charles walked to the reception and paid the amount.

"Thank you very much. You are such a kind young man." Said Lisa Mary's mother.

"It's nothing. Anyone in my positions would have done the same." He replied giving her a warm smile.

"You owe me a lot." He whispered in my ear. Something told me that this was not going to end well at all.
