Late Nights

*Y/n's POV*

I cuddled up closer to my pillow, pulling the covers up over my shoulder, as I lyed in the dark. I knew it was late but all I could think about was Shawn. He would be coming home soon from working late on his album and I wanted to be awake when he got home.

A few minutes later I heard the front door open quietly, then shut as I heard soft footsteps coming up the stairs.

I pretended to be asleep, watching through one open eye as Shawn came in the room. His hand reached for the light switch but stopped when he saw me. He smiled at me, taking his hand away from the switch without flipping it on and headed to our closet.

I heard soft humming of whatever song was stuck in his head as he quietly changed clothes.

Shawn sighed, sitting on the edge of the bed and scrolling through his phone quickly. I couldn't help but notice how the small amounts of light coming in through the window shinned on him, making his tired eyes sparkle.

He turned off his phone, putting it down beside the bed, and stood up, walking around to my side of the bed.

I quickly shut my eyes and I felt him lean down and plant a kiss on my forehead. I couldn't help but smile at that as my eyes opened.

"Oh shit, I'm sorry I woke you baby," Shawn said softly.

"It's okay, I wasn't asleep," I smiled, rolling over on my back and reaching for his hand, "I was waiting for you because I couldn't sleep without you."

"Aww, well I'm here now," Shawn climbed into bed with me, slipping under the covers. He wrapped his arms around me from behind and pulled me closer to him. I felt his warm breath on the back of my neck as his hands slipped under my shirt, tracing circles on my stomach.

"I love you so much, you know?" Shawn asked, kissing my neck.

"Of course I do. You tell me all the time," I placed my hands on top of his.

"I do it because it's true," he told.

"I love you more."

"I would tell you how there's no way that's possible but I just want to sleep," Shawn whispered. I only hummed in response before falling asleep.
