*Aish's POV*

Recently, Shawn hadn't been sleeping very much. I would always wake up during the night to find him out of bed in the kitchen or the bathroom, or just lying there wide awake. And whenever I woke up in the morning, he was always awake before me.

It was a little worrying. He must have been only getting a couple of hours of sleep per night, even though he would never admit that to me. Shawn didn't want me to worry about him even when I really should.

One night, I was half asleep as I reached my arm over to Shawn's side of the bed. But, I fully woke up when my hand fell on nothing but cold sheets. I opened my eyes and even in the dark, I could tell Shawn wasn't in the room. And I couldn't hear any sounds coming from the rest of our apartment which made me wonder what he might be up to.

Slowly sitting up, I reached over to turn on the light and made my way to the door and out to the living room. There was a small amount of light coming through the window and it was just enough for me to see where Shawn was. He was lying on the floor with his back and head leaning on the couch.

I stepped over to him. "Hey," I said, sitting down by his side, "Can't sleep?"

He shook his head. "I keep getting lots of anxiety," he spoke, "It gets worse at night when I'm not doing anything else and there's not much else to think about other than the bad thoughts."

I reached over for his hand and held it gently. "Shawn how much sleep have you gotten lately?" I asked.

"One, maybe two hours each night," he admitted, "I haven't gotten a full night of sleep in at least a week."

"Aren't you tired?"

Shawn nodded, "I'm exhausted. But my mind won't shut down."

"Here," I stood up and moved to sit on the couch, "How about you lay with me?"

A small smile came onto his face as he stood up and laid down, his head resting in my lap. "This is really comfortable," Shawn yawned.

"It's probably a lot better than lying on the floor," I added, starting to take my fingers through his hair.

"Mmmhmm," he hummed. His eyes slowly closed and I felt him snuggle up against me more. "I love you," he whispered.

"Love you too," I cooed, "Get some sleep, baby." Shawn eventually became still, his breathing steady, and I knew he had finally fallen asleep.

For each day after that, I made time during the day where Shawn could lay in my lap and get sleep. I could tell after a couple days of doing it that the naps were helping him a lot. He didn't seem nearly as tired as he had before.

"How are you doing?" I asked with a smile when Shawn got home.

"I'm good," he replied, "A little tired, but still good."

"That's great, honey," I said, "I'm glad you're starting to feel better." I gave him a quick hug.

"Can I sleep now?" Shawn pouted.

I grinned, "Of course."

I headed to our room with him following me and I sat down on the bed. Shawn kicked off his shoes and changed into sweatpants before climbing onto the bed next to me. He rested his head on my lap like he had before and held my hand in his. "Thank you for doing this, Aish," Shawn spoke, "It really helps."

"No problem," I smiled and leaned down to kiss his forehead. I started playing with his hair again and Shawn's grip on my hand soon loosened, showing he was asleep. His lips were parted slightly as I watched him and I leaned my head back against the headboard, enjoying being with him.
