The All-American Athlete. Andre Brown is the popular basketball player with a bright future ahead of him. Every top D1 college has been trying to recruit him since he was in middle school but his indecisiveness is holding him back. Is basketball really something he wants to pursue? Let's not forget Andre's perfected playboy tendencies and womanizer antics. He's the king of the sexist assholes. Leading girls on just to love them then leave them. A father's worst nightmare.

The Revolutionary. Jovaughn White aka Joey X is the epitome of black consciousness. He's read every black ass, Afrocentric ass, militant ass book ever written. An advocate for change, he's known for finding the oppression in everything and coming up with ways to overthrow the government. A Black Identity Extremist is what the FBI would call him.

The Hotep. Rashad Greene is convinced that his third eye is opened and he's woke. But that's not true. He's an advocate for a patriarchal black community and usually refers to black women as Queen all while disrespecting her entire existence. He never leaves the house without wearing an Africa piece or an ankh. Rashad is a know it all who knows nothing.

The Quiet One. Demetrius Carter is just trying to figure things out. Some people make fun of him because he doesn't demonstrate masculinity in the expected ways. He hasn't fully come to terms with his sexuality and is unsure about who he is attracted to. He's not gay or straight. At least he doesn't think so.

The Hip Hop Head. Malik Taylor is a wanna be rapper with aspirations of resurrecting boom bap and lyricism. He's a go with the flow kind of guy who's stuck in the 90s. The most knowledgeable hip hop purist there is. He hates all the Lil whatever rappers with their colorful hair and bout nothing lyrics.

The idea for this book came to me in a dream. I wanted to write something that showcases some of the different facets of blackness and show black boys in a different light that isn't entirely negative.
