We sit in a Italian restaurant, not too fancy, not too casual. Just right. He's a lot better than when I first met him.
He's nicer.
Whenever I even open my mouth to say something even of its a simple thank you to the waiter, Shawn looks at me as if I'm going to run away.
He's a listener.
"So why did you go into creative advertising." He says taking a drink of his water
"Ever since I was a kid, I LOVED drawing, painting. Anything that involved art I loved it, and still do." I say smiling at the fact that I'm doing what I love.
"So, you?" I say pointing at him and he looks shocked.
"Why the army? Why a medic?" I ask while the waiter places my cheese ravioli in front of me.
"I wanted to help people. As for being a medic?  I've wanted to be a doctor since I was a kid. The way you feel about art is the way I feel about anatomy." He says and my eyes go wide and he nods his head.
"How's your food?" He asks pointing to my food with his fork.
My eyes go wide in amazement "SO GOOD! You need to try it." I say poking my fork into a ravioli and handing him my fork.
He grabs it with a chuckle and eats it.
"Holy shit! That is good!" He says handing me my fork back with his mouth filled with food. I nod my head and laugh.
"How's your pasta with meat sauce?" He mimics my actions and makes his eyes wide.
"So good. You would think oh it's just pasta and meat, but no. It's fucking amazing. One thing I crave when I'm drafted. Here try." He says handing me his fork with pasta and some meat on it.
"It cant be that-" My eyes go wide. "-holy shit" I say covering my mouth full of food and Shawn chuckles.
"See I told you!" He says and we both laugh.
"So this is what you crave when you are drafted? Thought it would be that pizza we had?" I say digging back into my food.
"Hm-" He says finish chewing and swallows.
"It is, I have 3-" Holding up three fingers "favorite foods I NEED to have when I come home. My mums roast, the pizza, and pasta with meat sauce." He says and I laugh continuing to eat.

We soon finished our food watching more and more people leave the restaurant and it slowly becoming empty.
"I'm sorry, but we are closing." A young man comes over to our table interrupting our conversation.
"Oh shit, I'm so sorry" Shawn says nodding his head to the man and starts to get up from the table.
"Holy shit, Shawn it's 11 at night!" I say with shock and a chuckle.
"I guess that's what happens when you're having fun. You are having a good time right?" He says with a nervous chuckle scratching the back of his head.
"Better than good. Haven't had this great of a date in a long time" I say and his nervous smile turned bigger and better.
We get up from the table leaving for the workers to clean and close the restaurant.

We get outside and I feel the cold breeze against my bare shoulders, and thats when it finally hit me.
I forgot my jacket.
I cross my arms and try not to shiver too much.
"Hold on one sec" Shawn running away holding up the number one.
He comes back quickly with a maroon zip up draping it over my shoulders.
"Thanks" I say with a thankful smile.
His jacket is warm. It smells so good. I slip my arms through the arm holes and it looks huge on me and Shawn let's out a chuckle.
We get to my apartment and stand toe to toe together.
"I had a great time." I say with a smile as Shawn let's out a sigh
"So was my do-over good? Please say it was good." He says like he's begging.
I bite my bottom lip and nod my head "you did better than good. You did amazing." I say and he smiles widely.
"Oh! Here's your jacket." I say about to take it off but he stops me.
"No. Keep it. Gives me a reason to come see you again." I blush and turn on my heels ready to open my door. I wish he would just kiss me. Just kiss me already. Take me out of my misery.
"Meghan" I hear Shawn say and I turn back around.
"Yeah?" I say sounding like I lost my voice.
He walks up to my quickly and grabs my face in his hands and strokes my cheek with his thumb.
"I'm gonna do something okay?" He says making sure I'm okay.
Before I can say anything he kisses me. He finally kisses me. His lips are plump and soft. It's not a make out session, but a kiss that makes me want more.

I sit at my desk sorting through paperwork of pesky clients. I've been on the phone with clients talking about how they hate the design and want it to be re-done.
That's what sucks about working in the creative drawing department. You can love your design. Could work your ass off day and night happy with your result, extremely confident about the design when your client completely destroys your work. Hates it.
With a passion.
Just like how I hate math.
"Yes ma'ma I completely understand. So instead of jam red for the kids shirt you want more of a deep cherry red?" Asking in confusion as I roll my eyes at how similar in color it is.
The client let's out a annoyed huff "NO! I want it to be Merlot. God I've told you about eight times."
I make my notes on the copy that I have and let out a huff
"Okay ma'am thank you for your feedback we will make those changes quickly." I say as nice as possible.
"Good. I'm paying good money." She says and hangs up harshly.
"Jeez. She woke up on the wrong side of the bed." I say after I hung up my work phone and place my head on my desk and let out a loud groan.
One thing I learned about being in this industry is, if you don't like constructive criticism then this isn't the job for you. You get criticized all day.
I hear my phone buzz and don't even look at the caller ID and place the phone to my ear.
"Hello?" I ask with no emotion in my voice at all.
"Why do you sound sad?" The voice belonging to Shawn.
My heart instantly skips a beat. He made chills run down my back.
My head shoots up and I instantly change my mood.
"Nothing. Just work being annoying." I change my posture and sot properly in my chair.
"So what are you doing right now?" He asks as I hear a car door shut close.
"Right now nothing. Just hating clients." I say with a chuckle.
"Hmm. Have you had lunch?" He asks. How did he know I haven't eaten since six in the morning and it's already four in the afternoon.
"How did you know I didn't eat?" I say curiosily as I collect my things to meet shawn somewhere.
"I had a gut feeling. And I wanted to see you again. I'll pick you up. What's your address?" He asks hearing the car start up.
"2008 79th street. Suit 20" I say blushing rather hard my cheeks hurt.
"I'll see you soon." He says and we both hang up.
I lean further back in my chair and smile widely.
"Hey! Did Mrs. Callahan call back?" My boss Jeremy asks peeking his head in my office.
I nod my head and hand him my notes.
"Yes! She wants the color changed. Again." I say rolling my eyes and so does he.
"I swear that woman." He says with so much annoyance in his voice.
"Alright. I'll have someone fix this. You my friend can go home. You have worked to hard. Go see your boo. Or go on a date. Do something fun." He says and we both laugh.
"Already have a lunch date" I say getting up collecting my things.
"Lucky fucker." He says walking out of my office.
I finish grabbing my things and see my phone ringing.
"Hey I'm waiting in the lobby. They won't let me up." He says with a chuckle.
I laugh and throw my head back
"Okay I'll be down in a minute." I quickly end the call and grab my cross body purse and phone and walk fast out of my office.
"Larry, dude!" I say throwing my hands up laughing.
"Sorry Miss Kroh-" (pronounced like crow)
Throwing his hands up in defense.
"Can't trust all guys. He could have been a serial killer!" He says loud enough for Shawn to hear
"Dude. Not cool." He says with a laugh.
"Larry, he's good. I promise." I say patting his shoulder.
Larry is the security guy in the main lobby. He's been my friend since the day I started my job. He also helped me with my ex-boyfriend when he would come by my office to speak to me.
He said he was "protecting me, because my dad can't." I smiled and walked up to Shawn and kissed his cheek and his hand falling on the small of my waist.
"Hi." He says blushing hiding his fave into the side of my face.
Did he blush because I kissed him?
"Alright kids, have fun. But not too much fun. And you sir-" Pointing to Shawn.
"-you have a fine ass lunch date! Your lucky to have her as a date." He says somewhat shouting making me laugh.
"God can't tell Jeremy anything!" I say with laugh leaving my job with a smile on my face and a handsome guy standing next to me.
