[Chapter 34: Day 90]

AUTHOR POV

Today was the long awaited wedding day for Joy and Sungjae. After their engagement some things were still needed to be fixed but otherwise everything else was good. Joy looked very stunning and beautiful in her wedding dress while Sungjae looked very handsome and charming in his Tuxedo. The two had a very simple but still elegant and beautiful wedding. Even though Sungjae was willing to make a grand wedding, he wanted to do what Joy requested which was a simple wedding. They invited a few close friends and of course their families came aswell. They had the greatest day of their lives and had a fun wedding until...

*Ring Ring*

"Dr.Jeon, im sorry to call at this time but we have an emergency.." A nurse called

"Im on my way" Dr.Jeon said while running to find Sungjae

"Sungjae, Joy im sorry i have to leave this early but there has been an emergency at the hospital and I have to take care of it." He say panting and catching his breath after finding the couple

"Aniya, its fine. Thanks for coming and being the Best man of my wedding. Fighting..!" Sungjae said cheering up his friend

"Kumawo, congratulations again😊" he says and then took off running with Dr. Kim who was also invited to the wedding. Then they drove away to the hospital.

Dr. Jeon Pov

Once we got to the hospital, Kim and I headed to our office to change into our uniforms then we headed to the emergency room. Dr. Chae was there with the patient.

"What happened here?" I asked while still catching my breath from running

"He got into a car accident, I think we might have to operate on him or give him more blood. He's been bleeding non stop ever since he got here." Chae explained

"Any idea where he was headed to?" I asked while checking out the patient to see if there is anything else we could do for him

"Well the rescue team found a bag and it had his cellphone and other belongings. They are currently going through to check and make sure that he wasn't drunk driving or on drugs" Chae responded

"Uhm..excuse me Dr. Jeon but you might wanna see this.." a nurse said while taking me to the room where they were checking is belongings

"What is it?"

"We found an envelope in his bag and it seems like there is a letter for someone."

"Do i know that person?"

"Yes, you do."

"Ok, let me check."

I went over to his belongings and examined the stuff he had. I then saw the letter they were talking about. I opened the letter and read it since it didn't say who it was suppose to recieve that letter. As I keep on reading I noticed that he kept mentioning about donating his heart, which led me to think that it must be for Joy since his name rings a bell to me. On the bottom it was signed:

Your dearest friend,
Jackson

Wait is that the Jackson that Joy is bestfriends with? , I thought and immediately searched for his phone to double check.

I went through his contacts and I saw what looks to me like Joy's phone number. Though the name was different, it was named as my 'sweet dongsaeng' . That to me wasn't convincing enough and  so I went to his pictures and saw many photos of then together. They were at a coffee shop together.

I put the phone back down and thought thoroughly of how im going to tell this to Joy. She will most likely be really upset which may cause her condition to worsen.

"Dr.Jeon, we need you right now" a nurse came in running

"Wae?"

"The patient..." as soon as she said that I sprinted back to where he is now. I want to save him for the sake of Joy. I don't want her to become weak and her condition to worsen from where it is now.

When I got there I checked his breathing and he was no longer breathing.

>>Few days later<<

We went through some of his files to confirm that he is allowed to and eligible to donate his heart to his bestfriend. I saw a particular file that confirmed he has been tested and he matches perfectly for Joy. I decided to call Joy even though I didn't want to. But I had to for the sake of curing my patient which is now also my bestfriend's wife.

*ring ring*

I sat and waited nervously while on my desk waiting for her to pick up the phone.

"Ne, Dr. Jeon. Annyeonghaseyo~"

"Oh, Joy-ssi, are you busy at the moment?"

"Oh waeyo?"

"I'd like you to come in and talk about some things about your condition"

"Ahh, jinjjayo? Arasseoyo I'll be right there"

*End of call*

JOY POV

Oppa and I headed to the hospital to see Dr. Jeon. Since he said he wanted to discuss something about my condition.

"Hey Joy! Chingu-yah" Dr.Jeon greeted as soon as we entered his office.

"Im sorry about leaving early on your wedding day. Things were just so busy at the hospital and it was an emergency so I had to take care of it" He apologized to both of us

"Aniya jungkook-ah, gwaenchanha. You were doing your job as a doctor so its fine" oppa smiled at his friend

"So what is it that you wanted to talk about?" I asked

"Well Joy, congratulations on your wedding and..." he paused then shows me a file

"...congratulation!! We found a perfect match for you for your heart surgery!!" he says while handing me the file

Oppa and I quickly opened the folder and read it. It showed all the test they've done and the results with it.

"Dr.Jeon, may I know who is this person is?" I asked while my eyes are still glued on the file

"Joy... I hate to break it to you and tell you this but..." he said and stood up to peel off a sticker that was covering the name and photo of this patient.

"Its your bestfriend, Jackson" he said and  grabbed what looks like a letter

"He was the emergency call that we recieved on your wedding day. He got into a really bad car accident and is no longer with us. We tried everything we could to save him but the accident was so much of an impact that he had a really low chance of surviving..."

I started tearing up, my tears were falling like a water fall from this news. I can't believe my bestfriend is gone...
