Good Kid

Hey, I came here to tease you guys & see if you're interested in Wil's story.

After

I'm a good kid. I get good grades, I do good things, I come from a good family, I have good friends and I make good decision.

I'm a good kid, I swear. Just ask my parents- or maybe, on second thought, don't ask them. I doubt they have good things to say about me right now. But I'm still a good kid. I'm a good kid who makes good decisions-

I think.

I'm a good kid. I get good grades, I do good things, I come from a good family, I have good friends and I make good decision.

"You're not my son. You're not the Private I know. You're just some punk 18 year old who took my son away from me and hurt my family beyond your knowing."

I will continue to utter these words despite being in a prison cell right now.

Before

"Call me crazy but I think I'm in love with you" I whispered not looking at him as we walked to our hotel, where we'd lie on our bed in our room.

"You're crazy." And then there was a grave look on his face. "I love you too and I love our relationship."

I smiled. It's been two years and we're going strong. We see each other everyday, we laugh, smile and kiss everyday because we love each other. We support each other with every breath we take. We are always there for each other-

"But that's why it has to end."

And just like that everything stopped. Time, our footsteps, my breathing, my heart. Just everything, even the snow. It was no longer cold, it was suddenly like I was on fire.

"I love you out of habit, because it's convenient- because you're there and love me back without hesitation. You're just a good choice, a good kid, to me. Reliable and consistent that's why-"

He kept talking but I stopped listening.

You're just a good kid.

I'm just- how can anyone you've spent two years with be just one thing to you?

Something so simply even. A good kid and nothing more?

Well if he wants something more than just a good kid, I'll show him the flames I can cause and watch him burn in my wake.

So this is going to be Good Kid, a story about Wil and his journey to love. It'll be told in two parts back to back, the Before and After. Things don't seem to be going Wil's way, in both the Before and After. It also doesn't help that he's making himself public enemy number one. He calls his father Captain but if he continues his ways, he won't have anyone on his team in future.
