   "I can't believe I ate the whole burger!" I groaned as I clutched my stomach.

   Jason answered by chuckling beside me.

   "Oh my god, I'm so full. OH NO! We live on a hill! I can't climb it - I'll die."

   Jason and I were walking along the dark streets, going home. The air was slightly chilly so I wrapped my arms around myself but I barely even noticed it due to the fact that my stomach was aching. I really had to eat the whole thing?

   Because Jason was so freaking tall, he towered next to while walking in the darkness. He actually made me feel somewhat safe.

~~~~~~~~~~
"Jason," I grabbed his hand just as he was about to open the front door. "I don't want to do this."
"What are you talking about? This is your mother."
"No, you don't understand. We're about to face death itself! Right now, she is like a ticking time bomb. We won't make it out alive."
"Jennifer, quit it." He chuckled.
"I'm not kidding Jason!" I squeaked.
"Don't worry." He locked gazes with me. "I'll protect you." He flashed me a smile before he opened the door.
Damn it.
"Jennifer? Is that you?" My mother called from somewhere in the house. She suddenly, popped out from the hallway. "Oh thank god, you are okay!" She quickly flew down the stairs and threw her arms around me.
"Don't you ever scare me like that again!" She smacked my arm.
"I'm sorry." I murmured while I rubbed my arm that now stung. I deserved that...
Then she turned her attention to Jason and did something that shocked me.
She hugged him.
"Thank you." What the hell?!
"For what?!" I asked bewildered.
My mother sharply turned to me, ending the hug, and gave me a glare. "For defending you. And then bringing you home safely." She growled.
Oh.... that.
"Jennifer," Her voice suddenly turned sad. "How-how could this happen? You guys were so perfect together and now he is hitting you?"
"He hasn't ever hit me before..." She raised a questioning eyebrow. "He hasn't." I hated defending the cheating idiot but the least I could do was tell the truth.
"I don't understand why he would hit you now though."
I sighed. This really sucks, I thought to myself. And the worst part was that Jason was sitting there listening to the whole freaking thing. "He was going to hit me because I slapped him."
She gaped at my words. "Why did you slap him?"
I mumbled under my voice, hoping she would just except that I didn't want to talk about it. I should have known better though.
"What?" She demanded.
"He's been cheating on me, okay?! He broke up with me over a damn text message and then had he the fucking nerve to make out with some girl right in front of me. I can not believe I did that. I can't believe I fell for some idiot like him!" I placed a hand on my forehead and hung me head. I squinted my eyes shut, trying to block out the rest of the world. "I'm so stupid." I muttered.
