Chapter 7

     Alec was shocked seeing Magnus holding his side preventing him from fall. Then he realized that he wasn't in his dream. Dream of Magnus and him still together as a couple, so he flinched and he pull his arm away from him causing him to slip and fell at the bench. "Would you stop being like this? Your gonna hurt yourself " Magnus said and helped him sit up on the bench. "Couldn't be anymore hurt than what you did to me." Alec said sarcastically putting Magnus in sighed and he took a deep breath before he spoke again but Alec cut him. "What are you doing here?" "Last time i check its a public place, I'm allowed to be here." The thing that Alec hated the most was when Magnus being a smart ass. "Whatever" then Alec got up slowly and start to walk away. "Are you okay? I mean how have you been" Magnus question him with doubts knowing he didn't deserve to asked that. He scratched his head even if its not itching. Alec turned and he saw Magnus was being hesitated. He crooked his eyebrow and looked at him with a serious look. "Why do you care? We broke up remember? You don't have any right to asked anymore. You chose that. You chose for me out from your life so why bother if I'm dead or alive?" Alec said with a broken heart. He want to say more but he started to choked and tears started to fall. He doesn't want Magnus to see him cry like a weak person. "I didn't mean to hurt you. I didn't plan for this to happen, I'm sorry." Magnus wished he could tell Alec more but he can't cause after what happen he doesn't deserve to talk to Alec and expect he will be soft and kind Alec like he used to be. "Don't have to say sorry if you don't mean it. Words you said can't be taken back. I hope you happy with whoever you end up with, goodbye Magnus" Alec said that with his heart feeling like someone stabbed him thousands times and he couldn't stop his tears. He knows Magnus was about to say something but he just walked away leaving him standing at the bench by his own. Its already dark when he reached home and its about 9pm when he arrived. "Shit!" He cursed. He know he missed dinner and his dad will be angry at him. He could feel himself feeling hungry since he didn't eat anything since yesterday and his body is getting weaker by the time he's at home. As he enters he heard someone called his name, "Alec? Where the hell have you been? You got your mother worried sick? Don't you have a phone to at least called and tell your gonna be late for dinner? What do you think this is? A motel? Where you can stay and go whenever you pleased?" Robert was so angry at him and he wanted to say more but Alec cut him, "Sorry, I forgot my phone upstairs. You don't have to worry about me dad. I made up my mind. I will move out and stay at my own apartment after I found it." Alec made up his mind by leaving this house. In that case he wont have to tell his parents that he's pregnant and the fact that he may or may not have cancer. "What??!" He shouted and so was Maryse and Izzy from the kitchen. Jace was upstairs at the moment so he couldn't hear his family arguing. "Where would you go? How will you pay for your rent you don't even have a job Alec?" Robert is really naive thinking that Alec couldn't survive on his own. "I have a job dad, I have my own savings. You think I'm that stupid?" Alec replied. "Well you stupid enough to go with your stupid boyfriend!" Alec couldn't believe that after all these years he still talked badly about Magnus and the fact that he and Magnus broke up he still have to defend him. "Magnus is not stupid! I love him and he helped me a lot in my life." "Oh yeah? And here you are, at your parents house. Where is your perfect boyfriend now?" Alec couldn't take it, this argument with his father made him more angry and he knows it will not be over till his father fully satisfied. So he just walked up the stairs leaving his father behind talking on his own and he knows his father called him to get back and finished the arguments but he is too tired to fight back. When he got to his room he slammed the door. "Damn these hormones" he grunted. He sit by the bed looking out the window and then he saw himself in the mirror next to the window. He walked up to it. Its a long mirror that shows your body full. He stand in the mirror and have a good look on himself. He noticed how messy his hair was and he has dark circles around his eyes. His touched his lips and he noticed how dry it was. He has stubbles on his chin and his mandible. Magnus hated he has that cause it tickles him and its causing his face hurts when he kissed him. But he guess that is not important anymore since they are no longer together. Then turn to the side, rubbing his lower abdomen. Then he sighed. "What am I gonna do? Your dad doesn't know about you yet. Shall we tell him?" He lifted his shirt and he put his palm on his tummy. He rubbed it softly and he felt sadness. He felt he was gonna cry again and he feels like somebody is hurting him. "I'm so sorry. I don't know if we will meet each other. I don't know if I will live long enough to see you grow little one." He started to sobbed. Even if he doesn't know if he has cancer he feels like he need to prepare himself for the news. He hugged his own body and he kneeled on the floor sobbing. Then there's a knocked on the door. "Alec. Can I come in" it was Izzy, Alec knew every time he had a fight with his father Izzy will always there to console him. He didn't get to answer and Izzy already went inside his room. She saw Alec was kneeling on the floor crying she didn't waste anytime she just ran to him and hugged him. She doesn't know what to say so she just hushed him. She never seen Alec so vulnerable like this, so fragile. After a while Alec stopped and he wants to get up but then his stomach gave in again. He feels he wants to throw up again. So he ran to bathroom leaving Izzy on the floor confused. He gagged and coughed out because there's literally nothing to vomit back. His stomach is really empty and he needs to start eating something before he vomited blood. Then he felt someone rubbing his back and pushed his hair from his forehead. He flushed the toilet then he got up to the sink, washed his mouth and brushed his teeth. "Is everything okay? When is the last time you ate?" Izzy asked worried about his brother. Alec then walked out of the bathroom and head to the bed and he lie down hugging his own body pushing his knee to his chest. Izzy surprise seeing his brother like this and the fact he didn't reply her questions making her more worried. "Wait here." She said and then she left the room. Alec didn't know what is she up to and the last thing he wants is Izzy telling on his mum. Alec hated to see his mum worried and not that she has any more problems to think but at least she doesn't have to start worry about this. A few moments later she came back with a tray on her hand. She has some food in it. She has two pieces of toast with marmalade on it. Orange juices and some medication with water. She also put some eggs omelette and some cut up apple on it. It smells delicious but Alec worried he would vomited again. "Alec, get up. You need to eat something please." Izzy begged. She knows Alec doesn't like to being forced but Alec turned around and got up. She was surprised that Alec actually listen to her and didn't say any word against her. "Aren't you gonna fight me on this?" She asked. "No, thank you Izzy." He said making her smiled at his gesture. Little did she knows that Alec was actually cared more on his baby rather than his well being. He doesn't want his baby to starve and he didn't want to lose the baby for his own behavior. He took the toast and started to eat it. Izzy looked at him with proud face. "See I told you I can cook." She said proudly. "Izzy, its a freaking toast, even blind people can make them." Alec said then he laughed at that causing Izzy to hit his arm and make him winced in pain. Then she laughed together with his brother. "Are you really gonna leave this house again? You just got back Alec. I miss you." Alec sighed and he put the toast down and sipped on the juice. "I thought you would be pleased hearing it, since I will have my own apartment and you and Jace can come and stay with me." Alec's words made Izzy jumped to the joy and opened her eyes wide with her hand on her mouth. "Really? Alec you would let us stay with you?" "Yeah? Why wouldn't I be? Your my sister and he is my brother. I bet mum would come and visit sometime if she wants." The idea of they all living together without his dad in the picture making Izzy felt guilty. Her dad always picking on Alec and making Alec do what he wants and Izzy, well Izzy is the princess. She always the favorite one besides Max. "I can't wait for that Alec. When will you leave? I will helped you move." Izzy didn't mean to be so bold but she hated the way her father treated Alec. It seems like anything that he did will never be enough for Robert. "Soon I hope. I need to find a house first." "Just let me know if you need my helped okay?" She said then she looked down the tray and she saw Alec only eat one piece of toast with only apple. He barely touched the omelette and the juice is only half. "Alec you need to eat more or I'm gonna force feed it to you like a child" she said giving Alec a look. "I can't Izzy, I'm full." He said while putting his hand on his stomach patting it to show her how full he is. The it hits Izzy, she saw the hand is bruising and a point on the bruise. She took his hand vigorously. "Whats this? What happened to you?" He pulled back the hand and put it under the blanket. "Its nothing." He said. "Alec you can lie to other people but you can't lie to me, tell me what's wrong?" Izzy looks at him with hungry eyes hoping her brother would tell her. "Izzy don't worry about it, its just a stomach flu okay. Plus maybe because I haven't eat since yesterday. You know better than anyone else sissy." Alec said with weak look. "Because I know you better than anyone else is why I know what you just said to me is a lie. Am I not worthy enough Alec to know what's going on. At least tell me if you don't wanna tell anyone else. I told everything to you. Why such secrecy?" Izzy gave him the look, as if she is gonna murder him with those eyes but instead she looks like a puppy who wants to cuddle making Alec smiles. Alec knows he can't hide anything from her and he knows he can trusted Izzy more than anybody else. Not even Jace. He always blurted out to his girlfriend Clary so he is not the ideal person to tell secrets with. "Fine, if I told you, would you promise not to tell anyone and swear on your life not to tell anybody. You have to take this to your grave. Promise?" He said and pointed out his pinky finger. "I promise." She replied back and grabbed his finger with her pinky finger. Even though they look like couple of kindergarten children but they always promise each other like that. Its one of their thing. Then Alec just grabbed her hand and placed on his tummy causing Izzy to startle and just look at him confused. "Your gonna be an auntie Izz, I'm pregnant." He said. Izzy looked at him shocked and couldn't find the words but she still holds his hand on his tummy. "Izzy say something please." Alec became worried now Izzy didn't responded to his words. Instead she had tears in her eyes and it falls like waterfall. Alec got worried, he removed the tray from his lap and he hugged her. Now he regretted on telling her but he had too otherwise he will explode since he needs to express his feeling to someone at least. Izzy pulled back and placed her palm on Alec's cheek. She smiled thinking of his brother the Omega is pregnant. Its been a while since they had small kids at home. Max always being the light in the house but after he's gone their lives is so miserable. Then it hit her, she suddenly realized that Alec and Magnus had broke up. "oh my god Alec, have you told Magnus?" Alec scrunched up his nose and shook his head. "he doesn't need to know. Remember I told you to take it to your grave?" "oh yeah like hell that's gonna happened Alec your gonna show? What do you expect to hide in a basement till you deliver? You will have to tell him and he deserves to know." Good thing Izzy wasn't agreeing with Alec making him reconsider on the decision. But then he realized he and Magnus broke up making him more angry thinking about it. "No! He left me Izz, he doesn't deserve to have this." Alec said with angry look. "Alec for whatever reason he left you there's always an explanation. He loves you, I've seen it. Both of you clicked and made for each other. Plus few months ago I saw him leaving dad's office but when I asked him he just said that he went to see Jace." Then it hits Alec, few months ago? That's when Magnus started being weird and different. Causing them to fight all the time and being so cold and distant with Alec. It doesn't matter how many times he asked he always getting the same answer - its nothing. But it doesn't changed the fact that he and Alec broke up and Alec need to moved on. He has his baby now to focus on. He doesn't need Magnus to help him raised the baby. There's always a single parent out there who succeeded, he thought. Then he realized he forgot to tell Izzy about the other thing. "Izzy, there's something else I need to tell you. don't freak out. They are suspecting me having cancer. they're gonna test me in two days time." Izzy now couldn't described what her feeling is now. She never knows why God gave his brother such hard time. He is a good person and he never hurt people. Why he has to suffer like this? Why he has to gone through this kind of life. But she heard it before, good people always leave sooner. Like when your in a garden, the most beautiful flower is the one who will get picked first. "Alec, I'm so sorry. I wish I knew what to say but I couldn't. I don't want to make you feel worst than you already has." He smiled at her, rubbing her arm. "how can I help?" She asked at least that's what she can do. "now you mentioned it, would you mind come with me to the hospital after tomorrow? I'm scared to do the test alone. Cat said they're gonna do a lumbar puncture." "what's that?" She asked, she's not medically trained and she knows Cat very well. "Cat said they're gonna take some specimen from my back to test if the cancer reached my spine or my brain. I'll be home after the procedure. I just need someone to drive me after." Izzy hold his brother hand and rubbed against her. "Alec I will be with you while they're doing the procedure. You have my back okay?" Alec nodded then he yawn. " you should rest, it's been a long day. We planned later okay." Alec smiled thanking her sister for the food. Then she took the tray and kissed him on the forehead saying goodnight to each other. She went out and closed the door before she left. Alec fall asleep soon after. He was so tired to even think what will happen tomorrow.
