While walking down the hallway, someone put his arm on my shoulder. I know who he is that's why I did not bother to look.
"Hey Beautiful. . ." He whispered into my ear that startled me. He. . . is the number one bully in our school, Seungmin Kim. The guy from Los Angeles but a pure Korean.
When one of my classmates told him that I like him, he started to bully me. Or more like teases me. Everyday he walks with me from the hallway to our classroom. He is my weakness and he takes it for granted.
"Seungmin, when will you stop?" I asked. I like him but he is annoying. At first, I thought he is the guy I have imagined. When I just transfered here, he is the only one who talks to me. Students here does not like nerdy type students but he does not care about my appearance. But now, he changed. When Maze and him broke up, he started to be a bully.
"Wow! You are really asking me that huh? You are a lucky girl, Ava. You should be thankful." He said, while still walking with me.
"Why would I be thankful? You are not worth it." I said.
"Oh. . . You are fighting back. That's what I like." He said while smiling but I can feel that he is pinching my arm, hard. And it hurts.
When we entered our classroom, the girls started to murmur for the nth time. I just do not mind them. Seungmin went to Changbin, Felix, Hyunjin and Hyunjin's girl, Trixie, his friends.
I walk to my seat and read a book. I do not have any friends here because I am some sort of virus to them. They do not talk to me. They do not care about me. I feel lost in this forest full of wild lions.
"Ava!" I heard Trixie called me. I just raised my eyebrow, asking what is the matter. I glanced at Seungmin and he is already murmuring something under his breath. Tsk! He is like a gay.
"Hey! I wanna go shopping with you." Trixie said when she already sat at the seat beside me. I think she is up to something 'cause even if we are not friends, I can still see that she is boyish and shopping is not her thing.
"All of a sudden?" I asked. She just shrugged and chuckle.
"There is a party tomorrow night at Hyunjin's place. Everybody in this class is invited. I want to buy a new outfit and I want to go with you 'cause why not? Right?" She said. I just smiled and nodded.
This is the first time that I will be going to a party. I don't know what kind of party it is but I will try to at least get out of my comfort zone.
"Deal? Really?" She said, excited. I just smiled.
"So friends?" She asked.
"Friends." I said.
Today is a really happy day. I did not expect that Trixie is now my friend. I just hope that she will not use me. Before, girls will just befriend me to be close to my brother which is a famous basketball player and youtuber.
Early next morning, I woke up early to prepare for today's plan. Shopping with Trixie.
"Mom, I will go out with a friend. Is that okay?" I asked my mom. She just nodded, continue typing at her laptop.
Trixie chose different types of outfit and she chose outfits for me too. We also went to a salon and she want me to change my look. At first, I insist but she is really stubborn so I just give up.
The hairstylist curled my hair and also suggest me to put conditioner every time I take a bath.
"You are so pretty Ava. Even with the glasses. So? Are you ready for the party?" She asked.
"Yeah?" She just nodded and we went to their house to prepare.
She took a black swimsuit and super shorts from her drawer and give it to me. "I do not wear this stuff. I feel like I am naked whenever I wear this." I honestly told her. The last time I wore swimsuit is when we went to Maldives and that is like four years ago.
"If you wear your casual outfit, you will be overdressed. So heads up pretty girl." She said and head to her bathroom to change.
In the end, I wore the swimsuit but put a loose white shirt at the top. We directly head to Hyunjin's place and their house is full of people. Some are dancing, some are drinking and some are swimming.
"You came." Seungmin said and smiled. I just raised my eyebrow at him. He look so manly right now. With his floral polo paired up with a white shorts and slippers.
"Oh. . . Slowly Bro!" Felix said to him.
I went to the side of the pool and dipped my feet into the cold water. A guy approached me and said hi.
"Hi Ava. You look so hot tonight." He smirked. Is he flirting with me? Oh no.
"Ahh thanks?" I said, more like a question. He laughed and move near me.
"I did not notice you before A but you are really pretty. I think I like you already." He said straight into my face. I do not know what to say that is why I just stayed silent.
"Bro, you are talking to my girl." Someone talk behind my back. My eyes widened when I realized it was Seungmin.
"Oh sorry Bro." The guy stand up and walk away. I really do not like the guy but I like the feeling of him talking to me. It felt new. But then, this guy behind me right now just ruined it.
"What is really your problem?!" I asked, annoyed. He just stand up and walked fast towards the kitchen.
"Oh come on Seungmin! Speak up! Why are you always like this?! Why are you always ruining everything?" I asked. This is the first time that I talk to him like this.
"Ava! Why are you so numb?" He asked.
"What? What are you talking about?" I asked, really confused.
"Ava, I like you. Can't you feel it? Everyday, I try to cover up what I really feel by bullying you. But it did not work. I just like you more." He confessed. I gasped. I really do not know what to say or what to feel. This thing is so unexpected.
"Do y-you rea-lly do?" I asked.
"Yes Ava. I wished I could stop this because I know what you feel. Obviously, you don't like me." He said while looking straight into my eyes.
"It's just that, I like myself better whenever I'm with you. . ." He said and looked down.
I smiled and went near him to give him a very tight hug. "I like you too." I whispered.
