"Ivaaaaaaaan!" I can hear the loud shout of my classmate which echoed in the whole classroom.
"I missed you. So damn much!" She exclaimed as she hugged him tightly. I miss you too.
As he looked around our classroom, his eyes stop on mine. I don't know but I can read sadness in his eyes. He look so good now. I mean, yes he is one of the most handsome but now I think he is already on top among the male population in our school. He also change his style. Before, he loves wearing plain shirts and his hair is also really messy. He also likes cutting classes. But now, he is already wearing loose polo and his hair is clean cut. I hope he won't cut class.
I continued reading my book, trying not to mind his presence.
"May I sit here?" I glanced at him and nodded. As long as I can, I will try not to make eye contact with him.
"It's been a while, Mara." He said. I looked at him and shyly smiled. He looked at me with an amused smile on his lips. His attitude is still same. He likes annoying me.
"How are you? Still bullied?" He chuckled. I looked at him with furrowed eyebrows. He still remember that? I'm Mara. The nerd minus the thick glasses and braces who is being bullied. Well, that was before. Almost all of my classmates bully me and then he came. Ivan came and became someone we didn't expect. I didn't expect him to protect me. To be there for me. And I think that is the reason why I fall for him. Deeply madly.
"Nope. People change. I did change." I said. Yes, I can clearly see changes of myself. Before, I don't hangout, don't do shopping but now, it became the opposite. I don't have friends but now I have person I can count. It honestly feel good.
"Hmm. . .sounds interesting. But still reading books?"
"Reading books is one of my escape." I said, annoyed.
"Can you just please shut up? You're so annoying." I continued. He laughed so hard on what I said that most of our classmates looked at him.
"I love the new you. And by the way, ahsuejndki." He said but I didn't clearly hear what he said on the last part because one of my classmates called me.
"Later, Ivan." I said. I ran to the canteen where my classmate told me that someone is waiting for me.
I looked over the place. Classes is still not starting that's why a lot of students are still around. But my eyes stopped on a pair of eyes that makes my knees weak every time.
"Hi." He spoke. He smiled at me and slowly walk towards me. He didn't change. Still the cutest guy ever exist.
"I miss you!" I pouted and slapped him in his right arm. Jeff is actually my first crush, first love, first kiss. Ugh. Remembering our kiss back in 6th grade makes me puke. But now, he is the one who I first call when I have problems. He became my best friend. An older brother to be exact. But sadly, he study in the States so we didn't really see each other often.
"How's life?" I asked him after giving him a tight hug.
"You? How are you? You are my life anyway." He said and softly chuckle. I laughed but slightly blush by his words.
"You idiot! When did you comeback?"
"Just today. And I'm going back the day after tomorrow." He said and pouted.
"Why?" I asked. He just came home and he is going back in two days? He is wasting money.
"I just have a really urgent matter to be discuss. Need to go. I miss you! See you in six months." He said and hugged me tightly. I hugged him and slightly patted his back.
"Can I come with you just for today? Spend the day with me?" I asked and used my super powers. My puppy eyes.
He furrowed his eyebrows on me and then looked at something on my back. Or someone.
"Bro! Take care of Mara for me. Bye!" He said and stole a kiss on my cheek. I stomped my foot on the floor and looked at Ivan.
"I miss you, Mara. Do you miss me too?" He asked and shyly smile as he looked down on the floor. I walked near him and whispered.
"No, I don't but I still like you."
