I wait for my dad to start speaking again. I always thought Jonathan Daves was the type of person where the worst thing he could be hiding was that picture or maybe that he was taking allergy pills. I don't know. I never thought I would have to.

Dripping tears have already made a pool in my clothes. My mother is crying too, but why? She knew all this anyways.

"After I had left, I never drank again. I found a sponsor and he helped me out. I will be grateful forever to Rudy Fallch. He saved me from making even worse mistakes than I already had. It must've been four years when I heard from Emily for the first time after that event. She had called not to tell me why but just to tell me "I need you to sign some papers." I wanted to show her that I was a changed man and that maybe there was a little chance we could save this marriage. But when I arrived I saw that the papers there weren't divorce papers but adoption papers."
