Dad's P.O.V.

I open the door to a man who looks fairly close to Jamie's age. He has flowers in his hands. Pretty yellow flowers, but I'm not sure if I know the name.

His green eyes are full of hesitance.

"Wrong house?" I ask.

"Does uh-um Jamie live here?" He says. Nervous much?

"Yes she does." I pause.

"Jamie! Get over here! There's a-" I pause from my yelling to ask the boy's name.

"Raven?" Jamie asks.

"Uh yeah." He says. Goodness gracious boy, speak up!

I see Jamie's eyes look down at the flowers.

"Are those Calendulas for me?" How the heck does she know those flower's name??

"How do you know the name of these?" Raven says. Slightly creepy. But then again, great minds think alike. I'm starting to like this boy.

"I took a botany class."

"Oh." He says.

I take that as my cue to leave.

I clear my throat and then say, "I have to finish my work in my office. Oh I forgot to welcome you inside. But Raven is it?" He nods. "You're welcome to stay. But if you both are in Jamie's room together, I want the door open."

What's a parent if they don't embarrass their child? Oh well. My work here is done.

I begin to leave and I see Raven bouncing on the balls of his feet.

"I should get going too. These are from uhhhh... my mom!" He says, such a terrible liar.

"Oh okay." Jamie says, disappointment clear.

"Well I'll see you around." He says and closes the door.

Jamie locks it, then goes back into her room.

Next chapter- Jamie starts at a new school! Wooh! It'll be much longer! I think I'll be starting my 'longer short chapters' from the next one and onwards! Lol
