Your POV

I woke up in my bed, fresh with the memories of last night. Somehow I was looking at things from a different point. Ukio was right to be angry. I decided I should apologise, but still be good friends with both Shu and Valt. As I stood up, I saw a flash of blue in the shadows. Ukio.

'Ukio, wait up!' But it was too late. He had vanished. Probably avoiding me. I don't blame him. I would too. But today was the Regionals. I had to go and cheer for the rest of my friends. I grabbed my bey and rushed out of the dojo.

I met up with Xander, Shu and the twins in the crowd. Zac, thank goodness, was too busy with all his fans.

'So, Honcho and Valt are versing and same with Wakiya and Hoji?' I asked. I couldn't believe that two pairs of best friends were pit agains each other. 'I wonder if the did that on purpose.'

'I know,' Shu said. I was glad that for once, I didn't look like a tomato. 'And Yugo versing Daigo up first.'

'Shu, I just wanted to say thank you for last night,' I smiled at him. 'It's nice to have a good friend.'

'Hey, no problem (y/n),' he smiled back, and this time I couldn't help but blush. 'Look, the match is starting.'

'3 2 1! Let it rip!'

Yedgrion and Doomscizor were both launched into the stadium. I gasped as I realised how wobbly Doomscizor was.

'Not good, that's a mislaunch!' said Xander. Doomscizor was knocked out of the stadium within seconds. Daigo gasped.

'On to the next battle!' Hanami announced. I looked up at the stage to see Yugo smirking, and Daigo shaking his head.

'Looks like he's starting to doubt himself,' Shu observed. I nodded grimly.

'3 2 1! Let it rip!'

And then it happened. Just as Daigo tilted his launcher, a flash of light hit Yugo, messing up his launch.

'Uh oh, look like it's  Yugo's turn to mis-launch!' Hanami said. I frowned. No, it's something more than that...

Yegdrion bursted on first contact. Daigo won, but there was something other than that...

--------------------

The second round had finished and Xander, Yugo and I were walking back to the dojo. It was in the afternoon, the heat getting to us, which made Yugo more angry. He was already mad at losing like that in the quater finals, stomping everwhere and yelling.

'He'll calm down,' Xander said.

'Hopefully,' I smiled. 'Um, do you have any idea where Ukio is?'

'Uh, sure. He always goes to this tree in the middle of the forest in the afternoon,' Xander told me. 'Why, is something up?'

'Nothing, I just need to tell him something.'

I turned to the forest and raced to the middle. Within minutes, I saw Ukio staring at Unicrest.

'Ukio!' I yelled, getting his attention. 'Don't go! I just want to say sorry!'

I arrived at the base of the tree, panting. 'I realised how wrong I was. I'm sorry,' I apologised, hanging my head. 'I shouldn't have blushed at Shu and I should've cheered for you.'

'Don't worry about it (y/n),' Ukio smiled. 'I realised I was being so protective. You were just hanging out with my friends and cheering for one of your best friends. I'm sorry.'

'So, were good now?' I said hopefully.

'Sure we are, let's go back.'

-----------------

We arrived back at the dojo only to see Yugo screaming.

'Oh no,' I shook my head. I caught Ukio's confused glance. 'Yugo lost to Daigo.'

'Oh,' Ukio realised. 'Then why is Daigo saying sorry?'

'Huh?' I frowned and raced in front of Ukio to see what all the commotion was about. 'What happened, Yugo?'

'I'll tell you what happened!' roared Yugo. 'Skull boy cheated! Lowered his launcher so the light could blind me, messing up my launch! Cheaters have no right to beyblade! Argh!'

'I know, that's why I'm quitting,' said Daigo quietly. I couldn't help but feel a little sorry for him. 'You'll play in the semifinals instead. I just had to do what was right.'

He walked away silently.

'He's quitting the Regionals because he cheated?' muttered Ukio. 'Tragic.'

'At least he admitted to it,' I said. 'You should be glad Yugo.'

Instead, Yugo stomped inside, yelling even more. I sighed.

'Sometimes I wonder why we even keep him around,' I questioned. Before Xander could answer, a younger kid, Iga, came running to us.

'(y/n)! There's someone that wants to see you. '

-------------------------

It was Shu.

'Shu what are you doing here!' I said, worrying. Ukio was right behind me.

'It's about Daigo,' Shu said.

'Yeah, we know. He cheated,' growled Yugo, coming in from behind.

'It's not about that. He wants to quite blading altogether,' Shu hesitated. 'And Valt found out, which is throwing him off his game.'

'And he has a match tomorrow,' I realized.

'And you know how he is,' Shu said. 'His emotions basically controls him. I need help convincing Daigo to not quit. Will you help me?'

'You can count on it,' I replied, not even worrying about Ukio. 'I'll catch him at the park.'

--------------

'Daigo! Here's your bey!' I ran to him, picking up Doomscizor which had been left in the park stadium.

'Take it, I don't deserve it,' Daigo grumbled.

'Daigo, don't quit. Nobody wants that. Ryota doesn't want that.'

At the mention of his younger brother, Daigo gasped.

'Hold on to Doomscizor,' I said, giving him Doomscizor. 'And watch Valt in the finals tomorrow, kay? He needs to tell you something.'

---------
I walked back to the dojo silently. The practise room was deserted. Everyone either went home or stayed in the cabin.

Except there was still two people there.  Ukio and my enemy, Mei.
