You can't draw a breath
Because each cut no matter how deep
Must be straight
And though you're no surgeon
You manage to put yourself together
But that doesnt Last longSewing your skin with veins
Mending your heart with tape
Fixing your eyes with glueYou've already accepted this fate
Like a patch work quilt
Or maybe like a monster
The one built from people's limbs
Born from a jolt of lightningYou can't bare to see your face
The scars that cover your bodyAnd then there's me and im just the same
Arms scarred from giving blood to keep your heart pumping
Eyes dried and glazed with glue from crying the Tears you couldnt
Heart taped up and bruised from trying to love a girl who thinks shes worthlessIm not going to say you're beautiful even though i'll only ever say that word for you
Or how to me the words you speak carry the weight of the world and that i'll be hanging on to each sound you mutterAll i'll say is that you are indeed from a fairy tale, but you're not the monster
you're the hopeful princess just waiting to be saved from herself
