Chapter 3

Pipers pov:

I was reading through all the paper work when Ross came in with an arrow in his shoulder bleeding

"Ross what happened???" I asked with great concern rushing over to his side
"I was on border patrol and I saw rouges on the border, I heard them. Piper...the rouges sided with The Red Knights." He paused to take a breath "T-they saw me..."

I gasped, this couldn't be happening...not with Ace out there

I quickly mind-linked Ace

'Get back, NOW!'  I screamed in the mind-link
'What's happening!!!?' She quickly mind linked back
'I'll explain when you get here! Now hurry, notify the warriors'

"Ross...shouldn't you be almost healed by now?" I questioned, grabbing a bandage from my medical bag
"They must have laced it with wolfsbane" he mumbled before coughing, blood started to show through the bandage

He gave me and sad look before whimpering

"I'll take you to the pack doctor, you'll be fine" I said trying to reassure him

I went outside and shifted into my wolf, he climbed onto my back and gripped my fur tightly, as I was running I saw all the warriors were in place. I saw Ace running, our eyes met for a brief moment before I continued to run northward towards the hospital

I shifted back, not caring to be naked. He gave me his shirt and I slipped it on. There was blood all over it, now covering me. I smiled and it and he sighed

"I can take it from here" he said patting my back, whimpering in pain. I have him a sad smile before running out the door

I saw a warrior and ran over to her

"Any sign of the rouges in our territory ?" I asked her
She shook her head. "No alpha, they are still on the border, attacking them now would be considered an act of war"
"Where is Ace?" I questioned her. Her eyes glazed over for a few moments before replying
"The last time she was seen was in a tree near the border" she said before running off

I groaned before shifting into my wolf. I tried to mind link her but she wasn't answering.

Suddenly fear washed over me...was she okay?

'WHERE ARE YOU? ARE YOU OKAY?' I asked frantically, I tried to smell her out but I couldn't

I heard a crack in a branch and looked to my side to see her on a branch in a high tree

She wasn't paying attention to me, hell I don't think she even noticed I was standing to the left of her

I watched her, she was watching this wolf...this white wolf around other wolves...the rouges

She snapped out of her trance and looked at me, she hopped off the tree and put her fingers to her lips

I growled quietly to myself and she smirked, I looked over at the wolf and tilted my head

She looked over and uttered something to herself, I tilted my head and she groaned causing glances to come in this direction

One of the rouges shoved the white wolf over, Ace stood frozen. I bit onto her clothing and tried to tug her but she wouldn't budge

'Come on! We can't take them on! Move' I paused and tried to shove her 'move' I growled
'Mate' she growled, looking down at me with her dark blue eyes now glowing a firey red
