Chapter 27

Pipers pov:

"Hello, I'm Sapphire the Queen of the Elves" she said shaking my hand. They were cold. "And this is my husband Leo the King of the elves" she said with a smile. I smiled at him and shook his hand. It was cold. What's with these people and cold hands

"It's nice to meet you. I'm Piper, an alpha of the Lunar River pack" I paused, slight concern breaching my face "Is there a reason you have come to my pack? After all I see you have brought many of your soldiers" I said with concern
"We apologize on not telling you of our arrival. Just we want you to know we are on your side in this war along with many more super natural species" she said happily

I smiled. This was good. The wolves didn't want to be our allies so now that we have the support of many supernaturals was a good thing.

I quickly mind linked Zac to inform Ace of their arrival and all the information I've learnt

"Oh goddess this is amazing. Thank you so much for coming. But I don't see the need of coming in person to tell me. Is there something else?" I questioned. They sighed looking down in dread
"The thing is...one of our witches warned us of something. She saw into the future of a great betrayal that could destroy your pack."
"Yes, in my vision I saw flames. We figured if this happened we should help you after all if it's going to happen it's going to happen soon" said a girl who stepped out from the protection of the pack. She nodded in respect to me as did I "By the way, I am Raven"

"Well then, thank you for warning us and helping us in need. You are free to stay in our open pack homes for as long as you need. Your warriors can train along with ours for the day" Ace said soon arriving with Zac, Alec, Ross and Michael

I informed them through the link on what we have learned. I had an eerie about Michael but I couldn't let that get in the way since he's a protector of our pack

I looked over to Raven who eyed Michael with concern before quickly hiding her emotions

"It is really no trouble at all. We will gladly help someone or something worth fighting for" Leo added

After brief talk we walked back to the pack house. Their warriors parted ways while we all went into the main pack house

Michael went to the border for patrol. It was now getting dark so we needed watch. Zac followed him along

I noticed Lola in the kitchen cooking dinner for us. I smiled happily since it smelt delicious

Sapphire and Leo walked in and sat in a private dining table we had set previously for close family and friends

We ate dinner and made small talk

"I'm going to go for a run. Just need to clear my head" I said after dinner

I walked out into the woods and stripped. I felt oddly uncomfortable. I didn't like this. I shifted into my wolf and trotted along

'Mate...' Jacota purred in my head

I smelt the air. His sent...so faint, but it filled my nose in delight. I quickly calmed and purred at the smell

As I was smelling the air I heard a faint groan. I walked behind a tree to see an injured Zac

"They're here" he briefly mumbled before blacking out

Suddenly I smelt fire. I looked around me to see flames entrapping the trees. Branches snapped all around and the air was getting thinner. I grasped my throat and gasped for air

'Ace...help me. The Red Knights. They're here!' I said weakly before cutting the link

I looked around me and saw a man slowly walk out from the flames. My vision was getting blurry from the flames causing my eyes to tear up. I breathed in quickly smelling his scent

"Keenan" I said as I shifted back. I couldn't let my wolf get hurt "Why are you doing this!?" I said with a cough before falling to the floor

He didn't respond and my sight was getting blurry. He got closer to me, so so close

"Please Keenan! Stop it! Stop this! We need you..." I said before I screamed...I felt flames entrap me as
I heard him laugh

"Sorry love. In order to survive you sacrifice the few to save the many" he said pushing me onto the floor. I stumbled back shocked at the tingles in my chest and how cruel he was being towards me
"I-I'm your mate. Keenan...who you are and what people need you to be are two very different things!"  I said in a hushed tone. I saw brief sorrow reach his eyes before he grabbed me. His eyes changed from his normal color to a glowing black and silver

"I'm so sorry...god you're so beautiful" Keenan's wolf mumbled into the crook of my shoulder as he pulled me closer to him. I hugged him tightly...he made the pain from the burns go away "He's going to take control again. I can get you out of the flames but once he takes control I don't know what he'll do"
He finished before shifting into his beautiful black wolf. I grabbed onto him as he ran out to an out patch

I saw him shift back. Naked him was a nice looking him. I quickly looked down and remembered I had no clothing on too

"Piper...you deserve so much better. My beautiful mate. I'm Axel by the way"
"He'll come around right? I can't take it anymore Ax..." I mumbled before grabbing onto him for dear life. I hugged him like I was never gonna see him again

He looked down at me and smiled. His eyes changed back the minute he pressed his lips against mine

I didn't want to break apart...I've never kissed anyone before but I knew I was doing it right for the brief moment our lips touched. It felt like heaven.

He shoved me away onto the ground. He growled at me and sent daggers my way before running off

I saw an arrow fly past me. They had archers????

I shifted back and ran for dear life dodging arrows that had been shot at me and the flames that had been growing stronger, and I, so tired...had been becoming weaker

I saw our warriors run out along with the ones of the elves

They clashed and all hell broke loose
