I nearly cried writing this to let you all know :(

Pipers pov:

I lay awake at 3 am thinking

A man I had once had thought was my mate, a man that was so close to me betrayed us and was killed all for something his mate desired

Michael...dearest Michael how could you?

Ace had killed him, I don't believe that was right, but out of pure rage...there's nothing we can do now

I pulled the covers up under my nose to hide the sob that escaped my lips

Our pack members had died. Homes had been burned. So many had been injured

Later today would be the burial where we would honor our warriors along with the Elves and Vampires

I sighed in despair

Keenan had protected me

He...or his wolf had kissed me

I touched my lips at the memory. They tingled remembering his touch.

My wolf whimpered in my head. I just wanted my mate with me...was that too much to ask?

Oh mother, how on earth did any of us deserve this

Our pack was near the river bed where lay all 128 lives that had been lost

They were in the ground, now each of us would burry them but as alphas we had to speak

"Today is a sad day for us all. Today we morn the loss of family, friends, and our mates. The battle was a hard one and we thank all of you who helped fight and protect us and the pack. Not to mention our cause" I announced to the pack, clutching the fine fabric that held something far too important to me

There was a pause

"Here we honor all the lives that were lost. Wolf, Elf, Vampire, Lion, all that were lost. We thank you. We pray to the moon goddess that your journey to the after realm will be easy and we hope that you are happy." Ace added

Sarah soon continued "Thank you all that have fought. We know today is hard and it'll be a day mourned yearly"
"The battle of the Red Moon will be a day of sorrow" said Sapphire
"It'll be a day of pain for us all" Skye said, looking over to River
"Everyone who was involved will be honored along with the lives that were lost. If everyone would like to visit their loved ones graves and say goodbye now is the time before they are buried" he said "Some of them might be a non PG sight...so be warned"

Everyone went on their way to their beloved family graves. They were buried along next to the rest of their family. Each one that fought had a moon symbol imbedded into the side to show they fought in the Red Moon battle

People were sobbing and crying. I was too.

I walked over to Michaels grave and placed a red rose onto it. It was a grave already buried. Ace was not happy that he was buried with the pack. But he was buried next to his father and mother like he wished all those years ago. I'd honor that

He still protected the pack for a short time and was my dear friend...my first true friend other then Ace
