(A/N: Just to clarify these characters are 13)

Suddenly, it happens. I stop walking to fight the excruciating pain in my head.

"Mike, is it happening again?" Will asks in a state of nervous excitement.

I can only nod before I pass out.

Knowing what to do, I hop right up from the ground.

"Y/N?" I call out. My voice echoes through the trees.

She doesn't reply. I frown. She's supposed to be here.

I continue walking and calling her name, stopping when I hear the light jostle of leaves behind me.

I whirl around. "Y/N?"

She stumbles out of the woods. "Mike?"

She runs at me and hugs me.

"I thought you were dead." She says into the crook of my neck, her voice hoarse with emotion.

We hug for what seems like hours. I fight the tears at my eyelids.

"Why? You saw me yesterday." I say as we break apart.

"Yeah, and then you fucking disintegrated."

"I didn't mean to! I can't control it." I say.

"Can't control what?" She asks.

I sigh. "Is there anywhere to sit?"

"Uhm...the ground." She says.

I groan. "Okay, take a seat."

She joins me on the ground as I take out Superpowers of Our World from my backpack.

I flip to the astral projection section and we read it together.

"So...we have astral projection?" She asks after awhile.

"I think so, yeah."

"So I'm stuck in the astral plane." She says.

"Yep."

"And when my head hurts it means you're close?"

"M hm." I confirm.

"Okay. How he hell do I leave this place? By finding the gate? Cause I've been looking." She says.

"Yeah. We'll look for it together until I have to g-"

"No!" She says loudly out of nowhere.

"What?" I ask.

"You can't leave me here again. I can't do it anymore." She whispers.

I look into her eyes. "I'm not leaving without you."

She gives me a weak smile. "Okay. I'm sorry."

"Sorry for what?" I ask as we get up from the ground.

"For making you stay."

"I wouldn't want to leave, Y/N." I say warmly.

She stares at her feet. Shit, what'd I do?

"What's wrong?" I ask, possibly afraid of the answer.

She looks at me, her eyes full of longing.

"Can I kiss you?" She says softly.

It's as if I'm seeing her for the first time. For the first time I notice how her freckles splash across her face and cheeks. How her (E/C) eyes are fierce with a spirit that I've never seen before. How utterly beautiful she is.

Her eyes flicker down to my lips and then quickly back up again. I know I should say something, but my voice is simply gone.

We both take a little step toward each other, my heart going wild. As I meet her alluring lips with mine, I wrap my arms around her waist. She folds her hands around my lower back as we tilt our heads slightly into the kiss.

When our lips part, we're breathless, grinning at each other. I watch her eyes flutter to a close as she kisses me again, this time with more certainty.

When we break apart for good, my cheeks are on fire.

"Sorry." She says quietly.

"For what?" I ask.

"For doing that." She says, looking incredibly uncomfortable.

"I never told you to stop, did I?" I ask.

She just stares at me, utterly confused.

I pack up the book and sling my backpack over my shoulder as I take her hand. "Let's get out of here. I think you've had enough."

"I have." She agrees with me as we begin to search for the gate.

Dustin's POV

Lucas, Will, and I are waiting by Mike's unconscious body.

"I hope they're okay." I say to myself.

"Me too." Lucas agrees.

We're sitting down side by side against some trees, waiting for Mike to wake up. Or, come back.

"How's he going to bring Y/N back?" Will asks

I shrug. "I don't know."

Suddenly, Lucas exclaims:

"Guys- guys look!"

"What?" I ask.

"He's fading!"

"What?" Will asks.

"Mike's body! Look!"

He's right. He's becoming more transparent.

"What do we do?" I ask in panic.

"I don't know! I'd check the book but Mike has it!" Lucas says.

We all stare in horror at his see through body.

Out of the corner of my eye, I notice something strange coming from our backpacks.

"Guys," I say. "look at our backpacks!"

There's an odd light coming from them.

We unzip them.

"It's the flashlights!" Will exclaims.

"Why?" I wonder.

"When Astral Projection users are emotionally unstable electricity acts up, remember? He's  using too much power!" Lucas yells.

"You don't think he's trying to bring himself and Y/N back, do you?"

(A/N: fucking kill me it's like 1:30am)
