(Does she already have someone!?) my whole world crumbles as I realize this.

We remain silent for a moment, when...

A loud crackle following by a sudden flash made the light in the kitchen flicker.

"Kyah!"

(Thunder?, that was surprising.)

I look out the window and see that it has started raining.

"Whoa, it's really pouring."

The rain was falling down hard, the noise it made is almost defeating.

"That was a surprise, wasn't it?" I say, then...

"Tegemi?"

"Uh, huh?"

Tegemi looks at me suddenly.

She has a distant look in her eyes, as if she's gazing off to the horizon...

"That...Thunder was loud."

I can sense her discomfort, but she immediately flashes me a forced smile.

"Mina, don't you do have clothes out on the veranda, right?"

"Oh, shit!"

I rush out to the stairs, to get my clothes from the veranda. Tegemi fallows me upstairs and help me, dry off my wet clothes.

"We should put this on the dryer." She suggested.

"Thanks Tegemi.

As Tegemi gazes outside, she murmurs sadly...

"It's finally rainy season huh..."

A little after that, the rainy season arrives. I stop at a convenience store that I work for on the way back from the university.

Just as I leave the store it started pouring.

(Darn it, and I even forgot my umbrella today!)

I stand there for a moment wondering what to do, when...

"Mina?"

"Tegemi?"

As I stand in the shelter of the convenience store, Tegemi's walks passed by.

"I told you to bring your umbrella today."

"I kinda forget, ehehehe." I laugh embarrassingly.

"Jeez you, anyway would you like to come under my umbrella?"

(Under her umbrella?)

"It's that okay? I mean isn't it a bit small for two people."

"Well it's better than nothing. She replied.

"Don't worry about it, come on!"

"Ah, okay..."

I enter the cover of her umbrella, and stand a bit closer than usual to her.

I glance at her...while she gazes at the falling rain with a distant look.

"Tegemi?"

"Yes?"

Even If I call out to her she seems miles away.

"It's...nothing."

(What is she thinking?)

"Mina?"

"It's just...You looked like you were in deep thought."

"Oh..."

She looks worried for a moment, but immediately smiles again.

"Not at all."

"Anyway, if you don't get closer to me you'll get wet."

Tegemi holds the umbrella over and wrap around my shoulders as she pulled me in.

"T-Tegemi?"

"I knew it, your shoulders are all wet," she said with narrowed brow,

"But what about you, won't you get wet?"

I push the umbrella back towards her, not noticing my hands holding hers as she hold the umbrella.

"I'm sorry."

I quickly move my hand away.

She smiles shyly, and the next moment...She grabs my hand places it on her shoulder.

"There problem solve."

(I didn't know we have a problem to begin with.)

We're so close that in this cold rain we can feel each other's body heat.

Just then...

Her phone started ringing.

She takes her hand from my shoulder and takes out her phone.

"Hello?"

I hold the umbrella for her as she moves a little away from me.

(T-that was nerve wracking.)

And when I hear her voice on the phone,

"Yes...Yes..."

"What?"

She suddenly turns pale.

"Mother's watch?"

"Yes...I understand, ok, bye."

After the short conversation Tegemi puts the cell phone back in her bag.

She continues looking into the distance.

(She's in deep thought again.)

"What happened?"

"It's nothing..."

She smiles but she doesn't look happy.

(Tegemi?)

But I never get the chance to ask more...

We return to the Famille' together, in the rain...
