And so...At night.

The camp's main event the dare begins.

"Each daring pair will receive a map!" said the headmistress giving instruction to the hyperactive kids who can't wait to get this dare started.

"Looking at the map, please get out the forest." She continued.

"Y-Yeah..." said Tegemi who's been visibly uncomfortable through all of this.

She shivers as we wait together, a few minutes, for our turn at the dare.

"I-It was scarry..." said young Aki.

"But, it was fun!" said Toya.

One after another, the orphanage children make it back from the forest...

"Okay, well then, It's Tegemi and Mina's turn. Good luck."

"Alright, let's go, Tegemi."

"Y-yeah..."

We suddenly step into the forest.

"I-It's dark...Mina..."

"Well, it's night and we're in a forest, all we have is the natural source of light."

"D-don't let go of my hand!"

"Of course not.

Since entering the forest, her hand has been glued to mine.

(She seems to be afraid of the dark, she's really cute when she's like this.)

(Though, she seems to be genuinely scared...maybe we should turn back.)

(I should talk to her about something this silence is kinda scary I'm starting to hear all sorts of noise...)

"Y-You did a dare like this when you were a child, right?"

To change the mood, I try to start a topic,

"Oh...y-yeah, when I was in the orphanage...we did."

"I...don't really want to think about it..."

"Oh...i-I see."

(This topic might have been a mistake...)

Just then...

We hear rustling in the distant.

"M-mina? What is that?!" she asked while she clings tightly to me.

"It must be some wild animal, we're at the forest after all."

"A-are you sure?"

"Yeah, do you want me to check it?"

"NO! don't!" she roared as she pulled me closer.

Then another rustling of some bushes near in front of us.

"Kya!"

"T-there it is again!" she clings even tighter.

(I-i can feel something really soft now...)

"I-I think it's a raccoon or some other small animals there's nothing to worry about."

(I hope.)

"Though that's a cute sound you just made."

"S-shut up..."

While she looks a bit angry, and a little flushed she doesn't part from me.

"Geez, Mina."

"It's okay, Tegemi you don't need to be scared."

"But..."

"Whatever happens, I'll be sure to protect you."
