A non-ending search was what Sasuke encountered, and that would have been welcomed some other day but not in this case. He only imagined that it would take him just a couple of months to find you, especially when he knew where to get the information that he wanted. Those sources turned out be useless and there was no information about your whereabouts.
Ten long and torturous months of nonstop search passed by, and although you left a couple of traces here and there, none lead to where you were hiding. A long breath left his lips, perhaps his exterior gave a vibe of indifference even some calmness but now he had come desperate. He had spent months without you before but now was a whole new different situation. Once he sets his mind to a goal, he won’t stop until he finally accomplishes it.
Now, you’re his goal. No matter where you go or where you hide he won’t stop until he found you, even if it took him years. Narrowing his eyes as he jumped from tree to tree in the wilderness, where only thieves and wild animals lurked. He was on his way to another village, where he hoped you would be.
However, he came to a sudden stop, landing on a tree branch when he settled his eyes on a group of bandits and another individual. It was evident that the other individual was a woman, and he was compelled to stay and watch. The group of bandits was formed of three men, and Sasuke could only guess what they wanted. They were engaged in battle, and although the woman was not using her chakra, she was easily able to fight one of the men. The others decided to mock her and just watch, until the man as defeated. Then the other two decided to attack at once, probably out of rage that someone who wasn’t using any chakra, just hand to hand combat was able to defeat one of them.
Sasuke’s eyes trailed to the woman, and then to the men who viciously engaged in battle. If he didn’t know any better, the woman was in a hurry and seemed rather desperate but she would not use her chakra. For someone to enter this forest, it had to be someone that could defend themselves otherwise they would be just digging their own grave.
He even questioned why he was there, it really wasn’t his fight and if that woman had entered the forest she knew what she was getting herself into. As he observed the woman and as he watched that she truly would have no difficulty defending herself, not that it mattered to him. So, he turned his head to the side and decided to just continue his own path by going around the area where the group had been.
As he made his way there, he sensed more chakra signatures but he didn’t stop, he did have another goal to accomplish. However, he began to slow down as he sensed even more chakra signatures and he wasn’t surprised. It is well known that a large group of bandits lurk around this forest.
Then, his eyes widened as he was rooted to the ground as another chakra signature made its presence clear. This one being quite familiar, one that belonged to a certain someone that he had been looking for. Without hesitating, he turned around and headed to the area which was flooded with more bandits.
When he arrived, like the wind, he took one of the men down with his katana. His blade moved swiftly, cutting down man by man, the woman doing the same. Your covered hands with the familiar chakra confirmed that he had indeed found you.
Once the ground was drenched in blood and scattered bodies surrounded the two you, he watched as you placed your hands at your side and you just watched him with utter shock. Just as that shock appeared, it fled away as the wind ruffled your hair. Despite the mask that you were, it was already confirmed that you were really standing in front of him.
Narrowing your eyes, you looked away and turned your gaze to a bad that had been discarded, a couple of meters away. You strolled to the bag, bend over and grasped it then you threw it over your shoulder.
Although Sasuke would have liked to be as bold as he once was, he simply just watched as you turned around to face him once more. “Running away, Sasuke?”
He could detect mocking in your tone as you asked, his expression remained the same unbothered by your mocking. “You’re one to talk.”
Frowning, you shook your head. “I have my reasons.” Taking a deep breath, you grasped the corner of the mask and pulled it down, finally showing your face. “Why are you running again, you were forgiven so why leave?”
“You know why I am here.” It was short and straight to the point.
Furrowing your eyebrows, you were not going to lie that you were surprised to see Sasuke here for you. “Forget it, that’s not going to happen.” To emphasize your point, you began to walk away from the male.
“Wait.” Within moments, your wrist was captive in Sasuke’s hold. His calm demeanor began to be interrupted by wrinkles at the side of his lips as he frowned.
And that you did, you did not shook his hold off nor did you attempt to run away. You simply turned around and watched as his eyes stared at the hold on your wrist. It was clear that he was having issues trying to clear his mind and thought before he spoke what he wanted to say. Whatever he wanted to say must had been difficult because each second that passed was like torture for the male.
Having to see the strong, calm and composed male in such a state made you feel bad for him. Your eyes softened as you placed your other hand on his hand and softly, removed it from your wrist. Hesitantly, you then released your hold on his hand. “Sasuke,” once obtaining his attention, you continued, “I appreciate that you came to look for me. I know that it was not an easy task, and it means a lot to me that you were willing to do that. But you know why I am doing this, and all I ask of you it to accept my choice.”
He did. Perhaps he was sour at the fact that you had fled, and at a point you made him realize what Naruto had been trying to teach him. It’s not easy to let go of someone, someone special to them, and, although quite ironic, he was doing the something. You are someone that he truly cares for and he isn’t willing to let go. No, although selfish that he wouldn’t accept your choice, he would not let you go just like that. But overall, he does respect your choice and he isn’t going to change it. If you’re unwilling to go back to the Village, then so be it, but he won’t leave your side. If only he could really speak what he truly felt. That only frustrated him more, adding a deep scowl to his face. “You idiot, I am not asking you to go back.” Finally, he growled sounding cold.
“Then what do you want?” At his choice of words, your expression wasn’t soft like it was a few moments ago. It had changed to one like his. Things were not going the way he wanted them to go, and he was even more frustrated than before. So, he acted before he though and he grabbed your wrist once more, tugged you forward and kissed you. You didn’t have enough time to decipher what he was doing, but when you did, it was too late, he had pushed you a little away from him. There was a small pink tint to his cheeks as he watched to the side. “Oh.” For some strange reason, your mind brought certain memories that had once involved more than kissing. Now, you were blushing just thinking of what you had done with the male, even if it was done only to use him. Because whether you wanted to admit it or not, Sasuke had been the only male that had dared act in such an intimate way.
His blush dissipated, as his eyes locked on your, only to have to glance away. You were now blushing, more than a simple kiss could have caused. An eyebrow rose in curiosity, could it be that you were reminded of that…Event? Even if so much time had passed, he could still remember the way you felt against him, and if Sakura hadn’t arrived, he would have continued. He cleared his throat to gain your attention. “Now, are you coming or not?”
You watched as the male continued to walk, and now it would be the best to decide though, you doubted that he let you just walk away. Sighing, you followed him. Maybe having someone to travel with won’t be that bad, you’ve done it before, and Sasuke had been one of them. Besides, he deserved a change, even if he did not voice it, that was what he wanted. He did say that he was a patient man, didn’t he? Maybe one day you’ll feel the same way that he does. Only time will tell.
