KAITLYN STONE
"Who is Drake Blair?" A voice said as I started waking up.
"What?" I asked trying to sit up.
Pain shot through my shoulder causing me to lay back down.
"Who is Drake Blair?"
I finally managed to look towards the voice.
"Cameron? Cameron Black?" I asked looking at him.
"Yes. I need to know who Drake Blair is."
"He's the Unit Chief of the Maine field office."
"He has my brother, Kaitlyn. He has Jonny."
"Jonny? No. Jonny's in Attica Correctional."
"He was. I called this morning and he's been transferred."
"Transferred? Fuck." I sighed slowly sitting up.
"Fuck? What do you mean, fuck?" Cameron asked me anxiously.
"I'm an assassin for the American Government and the FBI. The reason I was placed in the Maine field office was not because I lived in Maine. It was because we thought Drake Blair was a spy for the Russian government. When he called me out as being the assassin I ran because we hadn't found the evidence to prove he really is a spy. I got in to see Jonathan yesterday. That's when he shot me." I sighed.
"You drove here from Attica? With your shoulder like that?"
"Of course I did. I'm a trained assassin. I've had worse."
"Gunter said you were a professional." He muttered.
"Who's Gunter?" I asked swinging my legs off of the bed.
"What are you doing?" He asked standing in front of me.
"I'm going after them." I answered incredulously.
"You aren't in any condition to go anywhere." A tall man said from the doorway.
"I'm fine." I insisted standing up.
A wave of dizziness hit me forcing me to sit back down.
"You've been shot." Cameron said anxiously looking at me.
"I'm fine. I need to get back to my house upstate. Then I need to find Jonathan."
"What are you not telling us?" Cameron asked.
"When I first met Jonathan last year I was on assignment to protect him from a woman with different colored eyes."
"You slept with him when you were on assignment?" The man whom I assumed was Gunter asked me.
"I did. I don't regret it. Not even a little bit." I growled at him.
"He was dating someone." Cameron said.
I sighed.
"I didn't know that. It doesn't change anything. This isn't the time to argue about my morals. I'm an assassin. I don't have any."
I stood up again. This time much more steady.
"Now you have two options. Help me get to my house or get out of my way." I hissed.
"I'll help you if it means Jonathan will be okay." Cameron said.
"I can't promise he will be completely unharmed but I will bring him home alive." I assured him.
"I'll drive." Gunter said from the doorway.
"Put it in the garage. I don't need people knowing we're here." I told Gunter as we pulled up outside my home.
"Can I use your phone?" I asked Cameron as we walked into the house.
"Who is this?" Wyatt Turner asked roughly.
"Wyatt, it's me." I answered.
"Kaitlyn Stone? Drake Blair says you're AWOL."
"I guess I am. He called me out last week."
"He got onto you? How?"
"I'm not sure. He shot me yesterday."
"Are you alright?"
"I'm fine. I need a car. I'm going after him."
"Whatever you need. You're the boss. Have you called Kay and Mike yet?"
"No. Not yet. I got ahold of Scott when I got home."
"Does he know you've been shot?"
"No. I'm calling him next. Please, just bring me the car. Something fast. I'm easily a day behind them."
"I'll bring it tonight."
"This isn't a good idea." Cameron sighed as I dialed Scott's number.
"He came for the wrong bitch." I sighed.
"Kaitlyn?" Scott answered.
"You must have absolutely no life to always know it's me." I teased weakly.
"Where are you?" He asked.
"I'm home." I told him.
"Drake is telling people he shot you."
"He did. Hit me in the shoulder. I'm patched up. I'm fine. Wyatt is bringing me a car. He took Jonathan Black out of the prison."
"I heard. Is it a good idea for you to go after them?"
"Not you too..." I sighed.
"Do you want me protecting him or not?"
"Not at the cost of your life."
"He didn't do anything to deserve this. If it's me he wants then I'll go. I'm not the right bitch to come for."
"I knew you'd say that. I'm sending Kay and Mike to meet you before you go."
"I appreciate it. I have the brother and a friend here with me."
"How did you manage that?"
"I was bleeding out and a hospital wasn't in the cards."
"You can't take them with you.
"I know that. I may not have a choice. They're twins, Scott."
"I wish you'd come to me."
"How was I supposed to get to you? I barely made the eight hour drive to them let alone all the way to Virginia. You know it's not safe for us to be seen together."
He sighed audibly.
"You know I can do this. You know I can take them out. This is what you hired me for."
"I know. I know."
"Try to get a lock on him for me. Get me a direction to go in."
"I'll find him. You just wait until I do."
"I'm not very patient, Scott."
A knock came at the door.
"Did you send Kay and Mike?" I asked.
"No. Not yet. Why?"
"Someone just knocked on the door."
"Be careful."
"I'm going to have to call you back." I said before I hung up the phone and walked towards the door.
I placed my hand on a panel in the wall at the base of the stairs just out of sight of the door. The panel flipped out revealing a handgun. I took the gun, flipped off the safety and held it in front of me.
"Stay right there." I whispered to Cameron and Gunter.
Cautiously I looked through the peephole and found my front porch empty.
I pulled the door open and an envelope fell out of the doorframe. I snatched the envelope off of the floor and slammed the door locking it.
I examined the envelope after walking into the living room and found nothing out of the ordinary. I cautiously opened it and dumped the contents onto the coffee table. A DVD and a small note.
Kaitlyn Stone,
I hope you enjoy watching this as much as we enjoyed making it. Again.
Drake Blair
"What does that mean?" Cameron asked.
"Nothing good."
