we checked in at the desk. or at least, we attempted to. there wasn't enough rooms for me.

vince slammed his hand on the desk. "ma'am, do you know who we are?" the woman nodded quickly, looking as if she was fearing to lose her job. "and do you know who i am?"

"vince neil, sir."

"you're damn right i am. and this is nikki fucking sixx's sister. so i suggest you find a fucking room, for her to fucking sleep in. unless you wanna lose your job, linda."

i stared over at the clock as vince kept demanding a room. 3:30am.

life on the road would be tough. that was, if nikki would even let me go with them after our argument on the bus.

speaking of my brother, he had already wandered up to his room with the girl desperate to get in his pants. i blushed with embarrassment, ashamed that i was being such a burden for the band. tommy twiddled his drumsticks whilst his groupie messed with her hair, rolling her eyes with impatience.

i looked over at mick who was rubbing his chin with his hand as he leant on the desk, clearly needing his sleep.

i smiled to myself. he may of looked tired but he was still so damn cute. i'd only known him one night, turns out him saving my life brought me closer to him than i expected.

as everyone started getting extremely fed up and tommy knocked a painting off the wall, i sighed to myself. this was it, already. i don't know why i ever thought this would ever work out in the first place.

"look i'm sorry mr neil, all the rooms are fully booked. and no, we can't kick anyone out. even if royalty demanded it."

fuck it. i'm only fucking it up for them.

i shook my hand before placing a hand on vince's arm. "it's okay vince. i did say to nikki that a ride to the next city would be enough." i said, walking backwards whilst beginning to head for the door.

"no wait, isn't my room two single beds?" mick asked the receptionist, holding his hand out as if to stop me.

"y-yes mr mars."

he looked over at me and nodded once. "you okay with that?"

i looked at tommy and vince who both had smirks on their faces, my body cringing at their dirty minds.

with hesitation i nodded. we collected the key cards and headed up to the room.

we were all on different floors, me and mick were at the very top floor.

i unlocked the door and we walked into quite a luxurious hotel room. he dumped his suitcase on the bed before sitting down and reaching into his pocket. he pulled out a small pot of pills.

me being me, i didn't make my staring subtle. his eyes reached mine and i quickly looked away.

"ankylosing spondylitis."

"huh?"

"it's what's wrong with me."

i sat opposite him, comforted by the feeling of a duvet. "if you don't mind me asking, what the hell is that?" i asked, smiling and feeling stupid.

he chuckled slightly. "there's no easy way of explaining it but basically any movement for me is painful. my lower spine is seizing up and freezing solid."

"shit."

he nodded slowly.

"thank you, for letting me share with you."

"i didn't exactly have much of a choice!" he said jokingly.

"hey!!" i said as he laughed.

"well, i couldn't just let you go like that."

"why not spaceman?"

"i mean more band members, more money!" he said, i'm hoping jokingly again.

"oh wow. using me for my talent!"

"yep. your talent of constantly ending up in situations where i have to save you." i opened my mouth in pretend shock.

"i didn't ask you to save me!"

"oh okay. i won't next time."

"no mick!! i need a hero!" i said sarcastically and with exaggeration. we both laughed, something i hadn't seen much of when he was with the band.

"yeah well, this disease is only fucking me up more every day so i can't promise to save you all the time, but i will of course attempt."

i smiled sympathetically at him now. "i'm sorry, mick."

"for?"

"well you're right, i am always getting myself into shit. i don't mean to. but it's you that suffers."

"i don't know i think you suffered too, that guy looked like he spat on you pretty hard in that crowd."

i tilted my head and raised my eyebrows, the corners of my lips turning up slightly to let him know i'm being serious.

"seriously it's okay lillian. it's worth it." he said, now lying back with his hands behind his head. i did the same on my bed, attempting to get more comfortable.

"what do you mean worth it?" i said after a few moments. but he was out cold. or at least, pretending to be.
