C H A P T E R 8

Chapter 8

Wow... his mansion is so beautiful. Like a dream. I can't believe I'd be living here.

Yes, I'd be living here. Xander explained to me that I'd have to move in with him to make our story believable and I couldn't help but agree and I'd be moving in next week because dad's operation is in 3 days. I'm so happy , finally I would have my sweet father back.

Although, the thought of not being able to live with him anymore saddens me. When we told him yesterday, he countered against it but after much persuasion from Xander, he gave in.

I introduced xander to my dad yesterday as my fiance. I was really reluctant to because I felt my father might find out that something is amiss but he said we'd have to meet each other's parents because we'd be getting married for real. I couldn't help but agree yet again.

I became really nervous when we got there and dad asked me about him. I told him the same lies we tell everyone and suprisingly, dad believed me and didn't say much to me only to Xander ofcourse.

At first, he started giving the typical fatherly advice, telling him to take care of me and never make me cry otherwise he will chop his balls and serve to the dogs and for the first time, I saw Xander look frightened. Dad burst out laughing when he saw his face and told him to relax.

Later, they got along and started talking business and at a point, I got really bored so I went to the grocery store beside the hospital to get some provisions for dad and when I returned, I saw Xander's hand in my father's and it looked like they were in a serious discussion. I watch my father give Xander a small smile as he spoke. I wondered what they were talking about and when I asked, dad said "Its only for the boys to know." .

I just ignored them and continued reading a novel I brought along with me. Later, they started laughing and I rolled my eyes at them. Dad didn't want us to leave but we later left after promising him we'd be with him through the operation.

Since then, he hasn't said anything about meeting his parents and I didn't push it because he probably wants us to meet them after the party's over.

And now, the party is today and I'm here to have my dresses and makeup done with. I'm kinda nervous about the whole thing . Meeting people hasn't exactly been my favorite thing.

The sitting room is so lovely and the setting is so nice. I love this house already. It looks so comfy. I mean, the chairs.

"Hi, you must be nichole." A voice said behind me. Turning around , I saw a beautiful brown haired woman who looks to be in her 50's. Maybe, Xander's mom?

"Umm.. hi. I'm nichole and you are his mother right? Hi ma'am."

She chuckled and I raised my eyebrows wondering as to why she's laughing even though I didn't tell a joke. She must have understood because she quickly composed herself.

"Sorry, dear, I'm not your to be mother in law, I'm his housekeeper, Maria."

"Oh! Sorry ma'am."

"Nah, dont apologize, we'd be fine and yes, call me maria." She replied giving me a sweet smile.

I could tell it's sincere. She invited me to take a seat on one of those comfy looking chairs and oh boy was I right. They're really comfy. Just the way I love them.

She asked me if I needed anything and I replied in the negative.

"Ok, dear, feel at home. Brianna will be here soon." She said and left me in the beautiful sitting room making her way to where I think is the kitchen.

Brianna?

Must be the makeup artist. I shrugged and just before I could relax and feel more comfortable, another voice called out to me.

"Nichole?"

"Yes?"

"Hi. I'm Brianna. My brother told me about you." She said pulling me into a hug and released me after few minutes.

"Your brother?" I asked facing the extremely beautiful woman with black hair and blue eyes that reminds of that one person that makes my heart beat. Xander

"Yes. Xander. I'm his sister and a makeup artist. I'm here to do magic to your pretty face."

I just smiled at her.

I'm finally here at the empire hall where the party will take place. Naturally, as time passes, I keep getting nervous and right now, I'm in front of Xander and he's just staring at me mouth agape. Do I look that bad?

Earlier this evening, when Brianna finished her 'magic' on me, I was extremely shocked, not the bad shock but the exceedingly good shock.

She indeed did magic on me. I looked....different. I felt impressed by my own beauty itself .

But right now, with the way he's staring, I feel ugly. Maybe I should just turn back. A hand on my arm stopped me from what I intended on doing.

"Hey, what's wrong, you're ok?" Xander asked me looking concerned.

"Yea, I just thought that the outfit might not be that good and I didn't wanna embarrass you so..." I stopped amidst the sentence and looked down.

"Are you crazy? You look fucking good, dead gorgeous bby...."

He controlled himself before continuing "I mean you're ok and besides , Brianna dolled you up. Anything she does is exquisite. "He replied smiling at the thought of his sister. He must love her alot, I love her too.

She is really nice. Throughout the time her assistants were doing their work on me, she was gisting me about their childhood with their father and grandmother.

She is infact his twin sister. It was then I really noticed the similarities, the same structured nose ,hair amongst others. She isn't like those stuck up bitches and I love her for that. We got along well and that too , so quick. She even invited me to have coffee with her after I'd moved in with me.

"Let's go." Xander pulled his arm out for me to take which I did.

Let's do this.
