KACCHAN POV

I swung open a cabinet, my eyes flicking over to where Izuku was just beginning to drift off.

"You want a drink or something?" I asked Kirishima. He looked up from his phone, where he was reviewing what we knew about the villain attacks.

"Oh, sure." He peeked over my shoulder. "You have something strong?"

I hesitated. "Not sure, the police kinda took all my stuff when they raided the place..."

"Ah, right. Water's fine, then. Thanks, man."

I nodded, grabbing a glass out of the cabinet and filling it up from the fridge.

"Anyways," I said in a low voice, averting my eyes from Izuku. "Thanks for... helping me out." I shook my head. "I don't think Izuku would've lived if you hadn't-"

He raised a hand to me, cutting me off. "Nah, man. Don't mention it. Besides," he said, shooting me a grin. "You'dve done the same for me, right?"

"Yeah," I said after a minute.

"So, when are you planning on telling the class?" He asked, taking a drink from the glass.

I frowned down at the counter. "Not sure. I mean... I guess I have to just rely on the fact these idiots will either listen to reason or just be forgiving enough to let Izuku stay here, but what if they don't? What if... I mean, even one bad apple ruins the batch, right? So if even one of them squeals, then...."

"Right." He put his hand in his chin, looking up at the ceiling thoughtfully. "Well... As long as I've known them, I think the class will be pretty understanding. The main person I was really worried about was Kaminari, since there was the whole attack between him and Midoriya, but after he saw Izuku's state, I don't think he's gonna tell anybody."

"Yeah." He better not. I'd fucking kill him.

"And anyways, it's not like anyone has a grudge against him. It's like I said earlier," he said, glancing at me from the corner of his eye. "Everyone understands his situation, kinda. I mean, what we could string together and everything."

"Okay," I said slowly. "So... better sooner rather than later, right?"

"Makes sense to me." He drank in the last of his water. "You gonna tell Izuku?"

I nodded. "Yeah. I'll talk to him about it when he wakes up."

"Sounds good." He looked down to his watch, wincing. "Shoot, Yaomomo told me she'd be tutoring this afternoon, and I know it's not nearly as urgent, but my grades need some attention..." He looked back toward Izuku, then up at me, almost sheepishly. "Sorry, man. You gonna be good here, or should I stay?"

"We're fine," I said, waving him off. "Go get smarter, idiot."

He grinned, shooting me a thumb's up before heading out. I went back into Izuku's room, since I didn't like being away from him for too long. Something along the lines of separation anxiety. Which... I don't know. Weak, on my part, but I didn't care. I couldn't leave him alone, not again.

My eyes trailed over his wounds.

Should've kept him safe.

I clenched my fists.

Should've taken care of him the first time around. This wouldn't have happened.

Damn Izuku...

NEZU POV (Ik it's new, bear with me here) A DAY AGO

Strangest thing, I thought, taking a sip of my china breakfast tea. Light milk, two cubes, in case you were wondering.
