Chapter 16

The next day...

No one's pov

Kol, Elijah and Klaus had met up at Kol's house for a hang out although Elijah didn't seem to get the memo as he brought his laptop with him and was doing work. "Oh come on Elijah. Shut that thing off before I take it off you" Klaus says "in a minute, I need to get this template done" Elijah responds "the template doesn't take long to do Elijah, just do the template later. Come and socialize with your brothers, which was the whole point of you two coming over so we can hang out and catch up" Kol retorts "just give me ten minutes" Elijah replies not tearing his eyes away from his laptop screen "you said that 10 minutes ago" Klaus retorts "bet you if it was Cassandra calling, you'd drop that stuff in an instant" Kol speaks up earning a glare from Elijah. "Cassandra has nothing to do with this" he responds "yeah but you drop everything for that cow" Klaus speaks up "don't call her that. Cassandra is a very nice woman and very professional and very mature" Elijah responds shaking his head "yeah sure if you call making a sex tape with an ex employee being professional" Kol retorts with a scoff "it wasn't an employee, it was her ex husband and he leak of the video was accidental " Elijah responds "oh I'm sure it was accidental"  Klaus responds sarcastically making Kol nod in agreement. Kol and Klaus didn't like Elijah's new girlfriend Cassandra one bit, it wasn't much her age that was the problem, it was her in general, she was a total fake and she was a gold digger, her first two husbands were filthy rich and she divorced them not long after she had a child with them and now her ex husbands give her money because she had their kid. Leave it to Rebekah to do a background check on any new girlfriend they get unless she already knows them. "I don't trust her and neither does Kol or Rebekah" Klaus said "well I trust her. We've worked together for two years and she's always been kind and dedicated to her work. She's a good friend too" Elijah retorts in defense of his girlfriend "the only reason why she was a good friend was because she was after a meal ticket with you. She's not an honest person and we just want you to be careful with her" Kol responds "I appreciate that but I like her and I want our relationship to work" Elijah responds "sure, just be sure to wear a condom when you have sex with her so she doesn't get pregnant otherwise you're screwed and will have to pay her money because she had your kid" Klaus retorts "Cassandra isn't like that" Elijah responded "tell that to her two ex husbands" Kol responds "her marriage didn't work out with them because of distance and one of them had an affair" Elijah responds "yeah mate, I think you'll find she's the one who was having the affair" Klaus retorts "that is an untrue rumor that her ex husband spread when he tried to gain full custody of their son" Elijah responded "did she tell you that or did you hear that from someone else?" Klaus asked "Cassandra told me, she got very upset about it too when she told me" Elijah responded "that's because she's a good actress. Well actually that's not true because Davina is a good, very good indeed" Kol responded "speaking of which? What's going on with you and her?" Klaus asked curiously "what do you mean?" Kol asked "come on, I know you went on a date with her the other week and you don't stop talking about her to Rebekah. So do tell what's going on?" Klaus asked "we're getting to know each other and we've also been pretty intimate with each other" Kol responded "you two have hooked up again since the party?" Klaus asked surprised "why yes and don't call it a hook up. It's not a hook up with Davina, we actually enjoy each others company and we're friends" Kol responded "so you're friends with benefits?" Klaus asked "no, we're not friends with benefits. I like her a lot actually and I think she likes me back but..." Kol trailed off "but what?" Elijah asked finally paying attention to his brothers "I'm afraid of making our relationship official. Like I want her to be my girlfriend but I don't know if she's ready for that since her last boyfriend died and I don't want to compete with a dead boyfriend she was in love with as silly as it sounds. I don't want to grow attached if the relationship doesn't work out" Kol explained "their relationship wasn't all perfect Kol" Klaus spoke up making Kol frown "what makes you say that?" he asked "Caroline and I have spent a bit of time together since she's playing the lead female role in the movie of my book. Anyways she often talks about Davina and Katherine. She told me about some of the guys she dated and one of them was Davina's dead boyfriend Kaleb. They appeared happy most of the time but they actually argued a lot, actually it was Kaleb who did the most yelling, he would yell at Davina a lot for unknown reasons. Most of the time it was because of his career, Davina was afraid he would get hurt and he had a bit of a drinking problem apparently and Davina got worried when he drank too much plus there's speculation that he cheated on her and knocked up Davina's ex friend Monique" Klaus explained "really? Is that all true?" Kol asked "according to Caroline, yes. Davina always told her everything that went on in her relationship with Kaleb" Klaus replied "what of the cheating thing and getting another girl pregnant? Is that true?" Kol asked "there is evidence to prove he was. For a few weeks Davina and Kaleb lived together, they wanted to see how it would be living together and often when he came home, there were times he smelt of  another girl's perfume, he had love bites on his neck and a few weeks prior to that all happening, Davina's ex friend Monique met a guy online and started flirting and sexting with him. Apparently they met up during her work break and hooked up and it wasn't just a one time thing either according to Monique who told Davina this. This thing with this guy only lasted about two weeks and sure enough Kaleb stopped smelling of another girl and no longer came home with love bites on his neck. A month went by and Monique showed up and told Davina she was pregnant with Kaleb's baby which he denied and insisted she was lying and that nothing ever happened but it was a lie and they had indeed hooked up behind Davina's back. They had a brief up break up after that but got back together a month later as Kaleb kept apologizing and making it up to her for what he did, she ended up caving and taking him back. As for Monique, Davina stopped being friends with her as Monique apparently became a right bitch to her after it was learnt she and Kaleb hooked up" Klaus explained telling Kol what Caroline had told her "h-how? Like how could he cheat on her? She's beautiful, talented, fit, sweet and funny, why would he do that to her?" Kol questioned "Davina asked the same thing apparently, she never got a direct answer other than Monique seduced him and tricked him which was a lame excuse to try and get off the hook" Klaus replied "what of the baby?" Kol asked "they weren't exactly sure if it was Kaleb's as apparently Monique had hooked up with another guy prior to hooking up with Kaleb and she hooked up with that same guy shortly after her brief fling with Kaleb ended and when Kaleb asked for a DNA test, Monique refused to do one and apparently left town" Klaus replied  "that's awful. Davina never should've been treated that way. What guy in their right mind cheats on a girl like that?" Kol questioned once more "it appears you more than like Davina" Elijah responded "I told you I like her. I like her a lot" Kol responded "then ask her out" Klaus responded "I already have done. We're going on a second date this Thursday" Kol responded "I don't mean ask her out as in a date. I mean ask her out as in for her to be your girlfriend" Klaus responded "what if she says no?" Kol asked "you got to take a chance right? You'll never know if you don't ask" Klaus responded "he's right. If you like Davina and want to be more than friends then stop wasting time and ask her to be your girlfriend" Elijah spoke up "and don't say because you don't want to compete against her dead boyfriend because there's no need to compare you. He for one is dead, two he cheated on her and three if she's actually spending time with you and opening up to you then she likes you too as from what Caroline's told me. Davina hasn't been involved with a guy in two years, she's had blind dates but she never clicked with any of the guys until you apparently" Klaus responded "I know that part as Davina's told me herself" Kol responded "then ask her out for real this Thursday when you go on that date with her" Klaus urged "you're very optimistic and wise today Klaus" Elijah commented "I think it's because of Caroline" Kol spoke earning a scoff from Klaus "pssh, no. Whatever makes you think Caroline is the reason for my mood?" he questioned "well for one you've mentioned Caroline more than once in the last ten minutes. You spoke of things Caroline told you which tells us you've been listening to her and you never really listen to women you're associated with except for our sisters and occasionally our mother. So is there anything going on with you and Caroline?" Kol asked "no, we're just friends. Very good friends" Klaus responded "yeah, sure. I believe you" Kol replied sarcastically rolling his eyes "it's the truth. Caroline is a lovely girl and she's nice company" Klaus responded before turning to Elijah. "You know Elijah? Caroline told me that Katherine has a little crush on you" he said in an attempt to divert the conversation away from him and Caroline. Elijah rose an eyebrow in question "and?" he asked shrugging his shoulders "and? Is that all you can say? A hot young woman has a crush on you and all you can say is and" Klaus retorts with a scoff "it doesn't matter if she has a crush on me. I'm in a relationship and Katherine isn't my type" Elijah responded "you sure about that? A feisty, slim brunette with a potty mouth and a bad girl attitude isn't your type? Elijah those sort of women are your weakness. You love women with a bit of a bad girl attitude and FYI for someone who apparently isn't your type, that sure didn't stop you from sleeping with her" Klaus responded "it was a one time thing" Elijah replied "you say that now but who knows what could happen besides you didn't stop smiling the day after the party and you wrote about Katherine in your journal" Kol spoke "you read my journal? How many times have I told you not to do that? It's an invasion of privacy" Elijah retorts "sorry, couldn't help myself. I accidentally stumbled upon it when I was cleaning your study" Kol replied making Klaus scoff "you? Cleaning up? Don't make me laugh, you've never lifted a finger to do cleaning in your entire life" he said with a laugh "now that's just not true. I clean up all the time" Kol replied "sure, since you now live alone and have none to clean up for you" Klaus retorts earning a glare from Kol "oh grow up. I often tried to get out of cleaning at times but you did too. You always tried to hide every 3rd Sunday of each month when we all had to do a full clean around the house as children" he responded "most of the times it worked" Klaus responded "but sometimes it didn't work" Elijah spoke "yeah because Finn always busted me and got me in trouble with our parents" Klaus replied "oh he always found a way to get us in trouble with our parents. Finn despises us, he always has done and he always will" Kol responded just as Nugget jumped up on the couch and nestled next to Kol who began to stroke her on the head. "Speaking of our parents. Have they been to visit you here since you moved?" Elijah questioned "nope, they've been too busy with work just like they're too busy to come and watch my games" Kol replied bitterly "we're sorry about that and we're sorry we haven't been to your two previous games but we will try and be there for your third game" Klaus replied "thanks, I appreciate it" Kol responded "no problem, anytime. We should've been there for your first games but we weren't and for that we are sorry and we will make it up to you" Klaus responded "I'll be sure to spare some time from work to come to your game" Elijah spoke "thanks, that would be great if you did" he replied "now, what do you say to us three going out and having a beer?" Klaus suggested "I can't, I have to be at the stadium tomorrow and I can't have any alcohol in my system for 24 hours to keep a clear focus" Kol responded "one beer won't hurt your practice performance" Klaus responded "I know but I don't trust myself. You know I can't handle my alcohol too well" Kol replied shaking his head "fine, what about you Elijah?" Klaus asked "you know I don't really drink alcohol" Elijah replied "you drank alcohol when we were at the party that Rebekah took us too" Kol pointed out "that was then but I've been trying to stay clear of the stuff. I'm always working and I can't be drinking when I'm working otherwise I'll lose concentration because my mind will be elsewhere" Elijah replied "fine, I suppose we'll just stay here and watch sports channels while Kol's dog snores loudly" Klaus replied "hey, leave Nugget alone. She means you no harm Klaus and she can't help her loud snoring" Kol spoke in defense of his dog "well you know what they say about dogs? They take after their owners" Elijah responded making Klaus snicker while Kol frowned "what's that suppose to mean?" he asked "what he means is? Nugget's a loud snorer just like you're a loud snorer" Klaus replied making Kol scowl "oh piss off" he retorts punching Klaus's shoulder making him chuckle. "Does Davina know you're a loud snorer?" Klaus asked as he kept laughing finding himself so hilarious when he was just annoying Kol "She hasn't mentioned it, as far as I'm aware my so called loud snoring didn't disturb Davina one bit" Kol responded "maybe she's just too kind and doesn't want to mention it to avoid hurting your feelings" Klaus retorts "jog on Klaus. You don't exactly snore like an angel, you snore like a gorilla" Kol shot back earning a chuckle from Elijah "he isn't wrong" he said "oh piss off" Klaus scoffed making Kol laugh "ha, not so funny now is it? When you're the one who's being made fun of" he retorts "oh go and stare at yourself in the mirror or something" Klaus shot back "I already did that this morning and I have to say I am devilishly handsome" Kol responded as he stroked his stubbly chin which had grown out a bit more. "You'd be better off without the stubble. You need to shave brother" Klaus spoke "na, I 'd rather keep it besides Davina loves my stubble, she finds it sexy and it feels good against her when I eat her out" Kol responded earning a look of disgust from Elijah and Klaus "we didn't need to know that" Elijah replied "well I said it anyways. What can you do Elijah? Sue me?" he retorts shrugging his shoulders "I can wash your mouth out with soap" Elijah replied "wrong saying for the wrong thing. It's wash your mouth out with soap if you swear" Kol responded "I can still wash your mouth out with soap for that way too personal and vivid detail" Elijah retorts "it wasn't exactly vivid Elijah" Kol replied "just keep those kind of things to yourself" he replied "yeah, sure. Whatever" Kol responded before getting off the couch. "I'm getting a drink from the kitchen? I'll bring you two something" he said before heading to the kitchen with Nugget hot on his heals as she jumped off the couch when he stood up.

End of chapter, what did you think? We got some brother time in this chapter. Elijah's siblings don't like his new girlfriend who apparently isn't as nice as she appears. Kol likes Davina and wants her to be his girlfriend but doesn't want to compete with Davina's dead boyfriend. Kaleb apparently cheated on Davina and possibly got a friend of hers pregnant, who is now her ex friend. Davina and Kaleb's relationship wasn't perfect. Caroline and Klaus appear to be doing more than just sleeping around and discussing business for the movie she's starring in, which he is directing. Klaus urged Kol to ask Davina to be his girlfriend. Will he listen and ask Davina to be his girlfriend? Katherine apparently has a crush on Elijah. Elijah has a thing for girls like Katherine. Will he end up pursuing her or will she start pursuing him? Some brotherly banter in there. What will happen next? Stay tuned for more
