Dinner Together

Sanyukta craned her neck to him in surprise only to find him already looking at her intently.

“is this a joke.?”

“am I looking like I just cracked a joke.?”

He questioned back raising his brow at her.

“and who gave you this idea that I will agree to your command.?”

“I’m just……”

“Listen Shekhawat,mai iss room me,iss bed me tumhe issliye allow kar rahi hun kyun ki ye tumhara room hai aur mai yahan kuch dino ke liye hun issliye koi scene create nahi karna chahti tumhare parents ke samne.

Iska matlab ye nahi ki   tumhe mai allow kar rahi hun apni life me  interfere karne ke liye.

Apni bekar suggestions apne pass hi rakho,mujhe inn sab ki koi jarurat nahi hai.”

She spat in a go throwing a glare at him.

“Bas kuch dino ki baat hai phir tum apna office wapas join karlena,per abhi ke liye toh…”

“Mr Randhir Singh Shekhawat thank you so much for your generous offer but I’m kind of happy in my current job.

You see I have recently got promoted ,so no I don’t need to change my job.”

“Agarwal mere office me bhi tum same job karogi as an engineer.”

He tried once again to convince her .

“really?

Last time I checked you were severely against my engineering.”

She let out a sarcastic chuckle before continuing.

“Kya pata apne office le jaake assistant ka job karwaoge bas mujhe ye dikhane ke liye ki mai engineer banne ke layak nahi hun?

And by the way I’m really curious shekhawat,tum aaj kal itne weird jo behave kar rahe ho.

Na koi revenge ki baat ,na apni girlfriend ka jikr upar se mere liye itna concerned?

What changed.?”

Randhir stared at her longingly for a moment then a sigh escaped from his lips.

“kya bas ek baar tum mujhpe trust kar sakti ho.?”

“No.

Company ke investor ke alawa mujhe nahi lagta hum ek dusre ko itna ache se jaante hain ki mai aap pe trust karun Mr shekhawat.”

She chuckled sadly,whereas Randhir looked away blinking his lashes.

"Good night. "

She heard him murmuring en silence followed afterwards.

Pulling the duvet over her she switched the light off and fell asleep without glancing at his way for once.

The next morning the first thing Sanyukta did after waking up was to twist to the other side of the bed but found it empty with no trace of Randhir around.

She sat up recalling their last night talk thus somewhere in the corner of her heart she felt bad for her sharp words towards him, but then she wasn't even wrong.

Keeping the thoughts aside she got ready for office and climbed off the stairs making her way towards the dining table where Harsh, Renuka were already seated.

"Good morning. "

Both Harsh, Renuka turned their heads to her direction ,while she pulled a chair for herself smiling at them.
