Their nerves must be on edge.

At least, she expected them to be. If she were to be in their shoes, Mina probably would've been trembling needlessly like a newborn calf learning to walk. But that was only because she's paranoid about getting hurt in every competitions.

She leaned on the metallic railings and peeked beneath where the courts were, scrutinizing every player that was on their respective side of the court. It was kind of cool, seeing Karasuno wear uniforms. Mina had not seen them in one before so it was sort of a breath of fresh air to see such a sight, all garbed up in black and orange. On the other hand, the Tokyo team, Nekoma, as she had learned was sporting red and black as their representing colours.

Just a quick survey of the team and her eyes were immediately drawn into one of the tallest player out of their bunch— that emo looking kid who looked a little intimidating. His hair was this sort of whole mess, almost resembling a rooster's comb. He turned around with hands on his hips, glancing around the area until it unexpectedly met hers. His narrowed eyes stared at her blinking ones before a sly grin graced his lips, giving an abrupt wave.

Well, that was unanticipated for.

Her gaze never wavered from his but she reluctantly gave him back a wave before resorting to manners and bowing to him. Mina immediately inched towards Takinoue and Shimada who were in the midst of their chatters with some elders, awkwardly looking away from the Tokyo boy and turning to her school's team instead. There was something in that guy that sent a shiver down her spine— maybe because he looked like a scheming person?

No, she shouldn't be thinking about something like that. She slapped her cheeks lightly to remove such low thoughts from her head but when her eyes met Kageyama's confused ones, her hand stopped and hovered above. The raven haired boy's expression was that of dubiety and surprise, brows all scrunched up at her while he stopped midway from passing the ball to Hinata.

Despite the awkward position she was in, her hand immediately turned to him like she wasn't just slapping herself, waving with her lips curled upwards in slight discomfort. Mina was starting to think that she was making a fool out of herself and that being here might've been some sort of the wrong choice but she couldn't dip out now. And now, Kageyama even saw her little slapping show without proper context.

What fool with madness did she look like in his eyes, Mina didn't want to know.

But thankfully enough, the boy had just slightly bowed her way to acknowledge her presence before turning back to his team. Anymore expressions would've resulted into the brunette glowing warmly out of embarrassment.

"You got distracted! What were you even looking at, Kageyama?" Hinata turned his head to see where he was looking at but a ball was immediately chucked onto his face with force. "Ack—!"

"Shut up and concentrate on warming up, you dumbass!" Concealing his flustered state, the boy vented out on the former with a scowling look. After all, he didn't expect her to be watching the game. What was she doing here, anyways?

While she sat there with antsy movements, leg bouncing up and down in anticipation for the game, Mina had mulled over a little— what did she know about a sport she barely played? All throughout her younger years and up until now, P.E. class was something she mostly avoided if balls were to be set in motion. Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis— all those other sports that included the fast movements, she tried to avoid out of fear from being hit. Like the many times those aggressive boys fought for the ball and in turn, a flustered boy threw it her way quite harshly that she didn't have enough time to react.

The basketball landed perfectly against her nose and it didn't take long until blood trickled down, soiling her white shirt.

"...etween Nekoma High-school and Karasuno High-school will now begin!"

Mina blinked out of her stupor and looked too see that both teams were already positioned, bowing towards each other as they shouted their gratitude for the game. The players were spaced out nicely but for someone who lacked knowledge of how their orders worked, the brunette didn't really bat much of an eye but just sat there as she tried to understand what was going on. A short guy from Nekoma with dyed blonde hair had the first serve, and when he did, the two men beside her excitedly chattered.

"Damn, he put that right in the corner!" Takinoue exclaimed.

"It's not too strong, but that was some nice control!" Shimada chimed in as well.

She blinked at them before turning back to the game. So putting it in the corner was skillful and should be noted, Mina thought. The brunette wanted to at least share some excitement with the older men but she wasn't knowledgeable in the game, so anything they talked about didn't exactly ring any elation in her.

The ball was received by the mature looking student from Karasuno and when the ball went high again, Kageyama was called.

"Kageyama, cover!"

"On it!"

His eyes were trained heavily on the ball despite his quick movements across the court. Hinata had also darted past him to where he claimed his spot and when he felt it was the right moment, he jumped— with his eyes closed. Mina's expression crumpled out of sheer confusion but Kageyama twisted his body to toss the ball to him, it was like a sight she had never seen before. The ball swiftly reached the short boy's palm like it was magnet and then he smacked it downwards, touching Nekoma's court without anyone expecting or reaching for it.

"Huh?" She couldn't help but allow those words escape her lips, dumbfounded like the rest of the people who roared out of astonishment. "What the hell was that?"

 "What the hell was that?"
