CHAPTER 23

Eureka's POV

WE STEPPED INSIDE the Parthenon-like ancient building. The great double-door with vintage design, which is the main entrance, welcomed us in.

Unang tapak pa lamang namin sa loob ng gusali ay agad na kaming namangha.

"W-Wow..."

The interior of this ancient structure took our breaths away. With wide open eyes full of excitement and astonishment, we scan the entire pre-historic place.

First, it's a humongous spacious hall that greeted us. As in, sobrang spacious talaga! Mula sa floor na gawa sa granites, hanggang sa malapad at matatayog na mga pader kung saan nakaukit ang iba't ibang Greek symbols at mga ancient Greek philosophies. And of course, makaagaw-pansin din ang napakaganda at napakataas na kisame na inukitan rin ng madetalyeng mga obra. The prodigious ceiling, floors, and walls are totally breathtaking!

The interior's center provides spaciousness, while gigantic pillars and statues were displayed at its corners. Most of those are beauteous sculptures such as: Greek mythological gods, goddesses and prophets. It makes the entire hall like a brilliant historical artwork museum.

Everything that completes this great ancient building is very antediluvian and, yes, extremely magnificent! The place was stored by such aesthetic masterpieces that were forgotten for centuries. And now, here we are, witnessing the immemorial treasures that were lost for such a long period of time.

Humakbang kami pasulong at hinayaang lamunin kami ng sobrang pagkamangha. Halos umikot na ng 360° ang leeg ko habang iginagala ang aking paningin. Gano'n din ang sitwasyon ng mga kasama ko.

Suddenly, we heard a light sniffle.

"Holly molly... I could cry," maemosyonal na sambit ni Mr. Landers. Maluha-luha pa siya habang pinapasadahan ng tingin ang kabuuan ng hall.

Lumapit sa kaniya si Zharina at bahagya nitong hinimas ang likod ng kaniyang tiyo. "For so many years, uncle... Finally... Finally, we have found our greatest discovery."

"Yes, Zharina," her uncle replied. "And I can't wait to share this discovery to our co-scout rangers. I'm sure they'll be proud of us."

Zharina smiled and nods her head. "Of course they will."

Napangiti ako habang pinapanood ko silang mag-tiyo. Ngunit naagaw ni Suzy ang atensyon ko nang siya'y yumakap sa'king braso.

"Sayang, Eu. Kung nasa'kin pa rin ang smartphone ko, e'di sana makakapag-selfie tayo dito sa lugar na 'to. Sobrang ganda pa naman, 'di ba?" aniya at nag-pout.

"Oo nga," pagsang-ayon ko. "At saka sana makakakuha pa tayo ng ebidensya na magpapatunay na nahanap nga natin ang Atlantis."

"True." Tumango si Suz.

"Don't be disappointed, guys," Genesis exclaimed. Pumagitna siya sa'min ni Suzy, saka niya kami inakbayan. "Hindi man natin ma-save ang moment na 'to sa gallery ng phone natin, ang mahalaga ay ma-save natin ito sa'ting memories."

"Tama si Gen," wika ni Neil. Ngumisi ito at humalukipkip habang pinagmamasdan ang paligid. "Mas maganda kung ite-treasure natin ang moment na 'to gamit ang ating mga mata kaysa gadgets. Once in a lifetime lang ang ganitong adventure, 'no? Haha! Hindi ba, Ele?"

Nilingon namin ang aming club-leader. And there we saw him standing meters away from us. Nakapamulsa siya, habang nakaharap at nakatitig sa isang statue.

"Ele?" pag-uulit ni Neil.

Tinanggal ni Gen ang pagkakaakbay niya sa'min ni Suzy, saka kami naglakad palapit kay Ele.
