a song from your latest musical obsession
my latest musical obsession is 'hadestown', since the full cast album was just released recently. i haven't really stopped listening to it since. and i've also seen the london b***, which made me like it even more.
i don't think this is one of my favorite musicals of all time, mainly because the plot falls a little short for me. i think the music is a++. it's so unique and i love the jazzy sound it has (i don't know the word for that exact style of music. please educate me). but i feel like the plot is too thin and it's dragged out a little too much in my opinion.
my favorite songs are, without a doubt, "hey, little song bird", "why we build the wall", and "any way the wind blows" (and sometimes "epic iii", it depends on my mood).
so in conclusion, my answer for this day is "why we build the wall" from 'hadestown'. that's my favorite song at the moment, but it keeps changing between the other four i listed above. i don't know how long this particular musical will be my obsession, though.
